Incidentally, how amazing is Brendan Cox and his overall response to such an appalling, personal tragedy?

More likely because there's no other way to spin a white extremist which is interesting because that's how he's actually painted, rather than being dismissed as a lunatic, as is generally the claim in criticism of the media as in the below. The Mirror v Sun is probably the best example for how stupid you'd have to be to blindly agree with one angle (although not limited to those publications)

They are allowed to be biased in that sense. TV news is supposed to be impartial – especially the licence-funded BBC and we all know that is more left leaning. Here's a BBC article for those needing the "airbrushed" view: 14% of criminals nationwide. The reason, the BBC offers, is "discrimination", "negative stereotyping" and "Islamaphobia". So yeah... it's someone else's fault they get a bit rapey. Belmarsh 29% Why? Oh, they're picked on for being Muslim. Dem facts. So Orwellian.

As for the news. I tend to need sedation (moreso post-referendum) and particularly for ITV (I don't even bother with C4). It really is, as has been mentioned, one long political broadcast - it's not even remotely balanced anymore. There is also a lot that can be achieved by simple, but deliberate omission of events. We're naive to think most broadcasters (and much of the press) aren't massively under establishment control in the UK. Looking at the level of collusion exposed by wikileaks between the press and the Clintons, it's safe to say we are as deep in it here.
