Yes,and thus Salafist Jihadists are a bunch of nutters..as are the KKK and the ilk in the US..as are the Christian and white Serbian and Croatian ethnic cleansing nutters (based in significant part on religious differences)in Europe in the recent past...or the orthodox christian extremist nutters today in eastern Ukraine/Crimea..or the Jewish religious extremist nutters in Israel or Hamas nutters...

Common ground being nutters come in all shapes sizes and religions and spout and do some evil/bonkers things...

One could argue that anyone indulging in extreme activity is nuts but when you are talking about large organised groups, it is fair to say that many are following orders under the pressure of fear or the promise of reward. It is a matter of context and proportion. One woman MP murdered does not mean a Fascist uprising but left to their own devices I'm sure that ISIS would be in London by now. We are having to commit a lot of troops and hardware to keep them at bay. Oh and they hate Britain. JAT

Why was news of the conviction of Jo Cox's terrorist / murderer buried on p.30 of the Mail. Is it because they know that somehow they are complicit.

Pure and simple explanation: Jo was a Labour MP that is anathema to The Daily Mail. The thought of having to champion a pro-active, genuine values-based, morally conscious MP at a time when there aren't enough Conservative MPs of such a calibre = easier to diffuse the bigger reality by shoving it all on to p.30. Incidentally, how amazing is Brendan Cox and his overall response to such an appalling, personal tragedy?

Ok, thanks. Didn't want you getting pulled up for libel.

Maybe the beard is new.

More likely because there's no other way to spin a white extremist which is interesting because that's how he's actually painted, rather than being dismissed as a lunatic, as is generally the claim in criticism of the media as in the below.

The Mirror v Sun is probably the best example for how stupid you'd have to be to blindly agree with one angle (although not limited to those publications)

I don't really watch ITV News much so can't comment. Channel 4 it is fair to say has a left wing bias in terms of their editorial stance on issues. But then if you don't like it, don't watch it.

There's plenty of other media outlets, many with a right wing stance (Sky News for example) is easily accessible for most.

The difference is people know the political angle of the newspapers. They are allowed to be biased in that sense.

TV news is supposed to be impartial – especially the licence-funded BBC and we all know that is more left leaning. We agree that Channel 4 News is left/liberal but Sky News is certainly not right wing. The recent interview with Raheem Kassam is an example of this.

Do you have examples of "Muslim loons" that were not jihadists?

Can you tell me the current Christian organisation that's behind terrorism in Europe and the UK?

Forget Pedogeddon. Here comes Leftygeddon.

It's f***ing hilarious.

Be honest. If it was a Muslim extremist that killed Jo Cox, the conviction would have been all over the front pages of the mail for days.

The BBC go out of their way... Do you have any specific examples other than the mostly Muslim rape gangs? Were are the figures to say rape gangs are mostly Muslim.

You say certain papers print things that are over hyped. I'd say they print inflammatory nonsense cleverly dressed up as fact that is meant to instill fear and hate among the readership. find someone to hate or blame when it's those that are in charge that are responsible for the s*** state of affairs. Orwell had it right with the 3 minutes hate in 1984.

3% of the population, 12% of the rapists. So, (of those actually caught, or indeed those areas where the police & CPS have the gall to pursue) they sure are over-representing themselves.

Here's a BBC article for those needing the "airbrushed" view:

[Link]

14% of criminals nationwide. The reason, the BBC offers, is "discrimination", "negative stereotyping" and "Islamaphobia".

So yeah... it's someone else's fault they get a bit rapey.

[Link]

Belmarsh 29%
Brixton 24%
Pentonville 28%
Thameside 25%
Wormwood Scrubs 27%

Why? Oh, they're picked on for being Muslim.

Dem facts. So Orwellian.

As for the news. I tend to need sedation (moreso post-referendum) and particularly for ITV (I don't even bother with C4). It really is, as has been mentioned, one long political broadcast - it's not even remotely balanced anymore. There is also a lot that can be achieved by simple, but deliberate omission of events.

We're naive to think most broadcasters (and much of the press) aren't massively under establishment control in the UK. Looking at the level of collusion exposed by wikileaks between the press and the Clintons, it's safe to say we are as deep in it here.
