When I see people call for Allardyce, Jedinak, Klinsmann, Hoddle, etc., I just cringe.

We'd be back to square one, or worse, with three of those and only one would be decent for the very short term. To me, the club is moving in the right direction when it talks in terms of creating a style of football that they choose a manager for, like Sevilla, or they try to grow all their own home country players like Sassuolo. That way, the disruption between managers is minimized.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

If we did change manager I'd love either Martin O'Neill or Garry Monk. Not sure either would leave their respective posts though.

Kilnsman or big Sam please

Lots of people don't like Sam but I don't think he'd be the worst choice - he got Sunderland to click pretty well towards the end of last season, with an inferior squad to ours. I'd take him or Mancini (whether he'd take us.....)

I don't think competence is the problem with Allardyce. He was appointed to the England job, whereas Pardew's chances of sitting in that seat are obviously in the realms of porcine aviation. Nor would I be bothered about his indiscretion: he will have learned that lesson.

I was more concerned about fit, we don't want to be another Sunderland.

But with Pardew it won't be Sunderland we turn into, it'll be Clowntown. Allardyce would probably keep us in the league. Pardew is nailed-on relegation.
