As many have pointed out RH did well at Fulham & West Brom, - However, he is now 69, how much energy can he bring to the position today,

Donald Trump is also 69 and he has just got himself a job requiring far more energy than a football manager needs

Someone in the mold of Stevie G, perhaps as Hodgson's assistant ?

No thanks to stevie G as he would only be hanging around until Liverpool come a calling.

I thought I read somewhere that Roberto Mancini was interested in the job!?

Just one small point, there isn't a job vacancy at the moment and if we win at Watford and get a point at currently traumatised Arsenal, there is unlikely to be one.
To optimistic ? Just put it down to a dose of Christmas spirit !!

would rather Hodson.

I know it didn't work for him at Liverpool but his record at Fulham was fantastic.

Hodgson is a buffoon. Did an awful job with England. No thanks.

He'd have Benteke taking corners and free kicks and wouldn't bother putting any wingers in the squad.

Nothing, if it's working and you have the personnel to make it work. But to persist with a system that is seeing you ship goals and throw away points, resulting in an inexorable slide down the table, is just madness. It's become about survival now, plain and simple; the time for experimenting is over (for now). We need to grind out some ugly results to stay in the PL; do that and then we can start thinking about how we can pretty things up.

this. If we can get the ilk of a Mancini then good. Otherwise, fat Sam to stay up and fight another day.

Agree, after a period of reflection, we need to stay up at all costs and that is the number one priority, not all this transitional nonsense which is simply not working.
Back to basics and should we lose against Watford and Arsenal, unless we appoint a fighter like Allardyce or similar,we are sleepwalking to the Championship by retaining the services of our failure in chief,AP.

Allardyce's record is no better than what we have no. For all the plaudits about his teams being defensively solid, check out their goals for and against record. Both are worse than Pardew's in the PL.

If we want a decent name, who can definitely organize a defence, Mancini would be great. Otherwise, I'd like the club to take a gamble with an up and coming coach.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

I agree. I wouldn't be disappointed if it was Rowett either, as you suggested previously.

His team looked very organized the couple of times Birmingham were on the tv here. That also fits with his reputation. He has done well on a limited budget, and in difficult circumstances.

Dirk Schuster is another, despite being sacked by Augsburg. Mancini makes his teams very hard to beat, which would be a big plus, and he has experience of the Premier League.

Personally Dont mind pards but 2016 hasn't been good and if we were a top 4 club he would of been out time ago so why shouldnt we do the same? I think give him the next two games and if we can't get the results he should go since we will only have half a season to keep ourselves up.. And getting a proven Bpl manager such as Mancini would show everyone we mean business, I mean look what he did with city!

Anyone wanting to see Woy in the job should be forced to watch England's 3 matches from this summers Euros.

Anyone wanting Allerdyce should be forced to watch every 90 minutes from his last season at West Ham.

I'd rather an unknown than Allardyce to be honest.

Rowett? Would be very bold.

Hodgson? We're the right sort of club for him but he's not very young.

Wagner? Would love it, but he has just turned down Wolfsburg.
