People on the edge of sanity will seek flags under which to fly that appear to give their maddest thought legitimacy. The more the media make a fuss about a specific issue, the more opportunity that provides for such people. It's not too hard to whip some people into a frenzy. It's a shame our populist press really doesn't care about the effects of its nonsense.

I it hadn't of been Muslims, it would have been gays or Jews or hipsters. It says more to me that we should be doing more about people with mental health issues. Blaming the press is shifting the blame imo.

And some of these people doing the accusing moved out of multicultural society years ago to live in a town with 740 compliant foreigners. I commented that the press helps give nut jobs something on which to hang their twisted logic and that therefore it contributes to the possibility of action. According to my non-indigenous friends there is certainly heightened tension following the Brexit 'debates'. It's in the interests of the Press to keep people excitable.
