In bygone years I used to drink the likes of 'Brains Dark', 'Marstons Pedigree' and 'Light and Bitter' but in more recent times I have stuck to Lager. I don't drink spirits any more.Will avail of a 'Baileys' now and then after a meal out. So at a future HOL function you ladies and gents can buy me a 'Fosters' !!!! at all costs i avoid : spirits, wine, rocket-fuel beers and cider. Also avoid daytime drinking cos its the way to the devil. and do do.... a cold beer/stout/cider/pale ale/perry/ etc in a glass from the freezer. After 9pm or the later the better to boost the soporific effect. Alternate each drink to change the flavour. Try not to go above 4.5% alc by vol. Lidl 4% cans of lager give the nice effect of cold fizzy booze on the pallet without putting you into a stupor - and cost nothing - not health nor money. Try at least 3 or 4 dry nights per week. If you drink everyday you don't even get a buzz anymore and your liver never gets a chance to recover. As somebody with a weakness for the booze ( but is not yet ready to live in a vegetarian-dry-celibate-silent monastery), this is a good compromise. avoid pubs, except for special occasions, food or football. drink-drivers are murdering scum.

Tea: Yorkshire Gold Casual drink: Robinson's Apple & Blackcurrant (must be 'Double Strength' though). General pub boozing: Grolsch, Peroni or an IPA. Whisky: Usually anything smokey, like a Talisker or Lagavulin, but Bunnahabhain is my go-to. And then at home on rotation: Beavertown Smoked Porter, Badger's Poachers Choice, most Meantimes, Delirium Nocturnum, Top Out Smoked Porter...

For example, that you will be wearing a dress, heels and wish to be addressed as 'Wilma'.

Depends on the circumstances, but here are the ones I like:- A pint of proper bitter. A pint of good lager: something like Pilsner Urqell or Budvar. Good red wine that is affordable - likely Rhone wines. A selection from the hundreds of bottled craft beers. But not horribly over hopped as so many are thanks. Captain Morgan and Coke. Sorry it's a family tradition!

Or I could just bring my cat and you could drink it's piss** ** in case anyone assumes this is because of Willo's posts about Clattenberg - it isn't. If I thought what others do then I'd advise drinking the Fosters.

Anything that appears on a W1 report to HMRC. That basically means whisky. When my revolutionary army sweeps to power spelling that word with an "e" will mean death. It is never acceptable to mix whisky with anything, not even other whisky. Belgian trappist beers, especially the dark ones. Chimay, Rochefort, Leffe brune (although that has become a bit mass produced). Port. I've also got a rather interesting bottle of sweet red wine from Greece on the go just now, Mavrodaphne of Patras which you get in Tesco's for a fiver. The only red wine I've ever seen which you're supposed to chill. There is no such thing as an acceptable substitute for Coke and any establishment which serves me some pishy imitation when I order Coke will be razed to the ground under my new regime.

I'm an ale man, can't stand most lagers. Current favourite is Brewdog's Dead Pony Club pale ale. Also like the odd glass of red now and then.
