I was there but not brave enough at that age to steam the Northbank, like they did! was in the Clock end
I recall feeling mighty proud of those warriors at the time tho
It was a brief incursion as the @rse quickly repelled the attack but they certainly did run.

not sure "repelled" was the right word, vastly outnumbered the speedy intervention of large numbers of very surprised constabulary and the march around the pitch or out the door saved embarrassment and a pasting

I was a 16 year old in the clock end right by the split with the ob and the gooners, things were getting a bit lively in there and a big skinhead in a sheepskin coat jumped up and smashed a big, empty bottle of whisky on the crush barrier, it flew straight into the back of my head, lucky for me it was just like a punch and didnt get cut, ob pretended they didnt see, dont blame them , he was a big ugly cnut...anyway, the north bank must have seen the commotion as things were hotting up, swaying and pushing,,,then, clock end,,do your job,,,roared from n bank, clock end clock end do your job! At that very moment, about 30 odd palace, not as old as they looked, lots went to my school,,,in the left hand side, top end of n bank,,,wayed into them, the n bank panicked,,and literally ran past the goal, the whole depth,,,all in one half past or even with goal,,,it was a lovely sight, specially cos my head was a bit sore, they did move back,,,but by then the ob were escorting the 30 odd palace along the pitch, right hand side as we looking on,,they were waving and we were singing, were proud of you were proud of you, then we took the north bank we took the north bank we took the north bank hi,,,,bury! that rang out all the way home,,on the tube, victoria,,east croydon,, i was working on a building site, in islington, all the boys were into football, in canteen i walk in, a qpr guy said how you get on saturday? i said,,we took the north bank,,,he said fcuk off,,everybody smiled,,,,then a top gooner walked in,,qpr said,,,steve,,,he reacons palace took the north bank! steve said,,they did,,,i was proud as it gets, good on the 30....we had arrived,,on the site anyway!

I was in the clock end, and it was quite a sight seeing those goners getting run in their own end!

Must admit, they got their own back the following season, when they pretended to be Palace and were escorted from the NB to the away section in the Clock End, and started fighting...

A new era of total football is on the way to Selhurst Park!!

Police incompetence. Take you out of the ground and back into the ground to carry on. Do none of them have a memory, remember a few faces or rely on cctv to do their work? Sort of miss the edge but also glad it's gone at the same time. Depends how sh1t the atmosphere is.
