I like WZ a lot, and agree he gets fouled more than most - but this is something he doesn't do. If he's fouled, or believes he's been fouled, he sits on the ground and moans - or spends 2 minutes muttering and seemingly distracted by it. Yes, we'll be shouting at the officials from the stands, but he needs to get up and go again. As for his difficult moves, all well and good when they come off, but when they don't he does need to chase back. sometimes he needs to take the easy option.

I disagree that we "owe" any player anything, except their contracted wages. Players' "loyalty" - quite rightly - it to which ever club will pay them most money (subject perhaps to geographical and family considerations); and as players develop, that will normally entail changing clubs. Clubs' "loyalty" to players - again quite rightly - lasts for as long as they think those players can do a satisfactory job for them at an acceptable pay rate. There's no more room for sentiment than in any other industry.

You make a valid observation. He does spend a lot of time appealing. I wonder sometimes if he could do ore to stay on his feet.

But, boy, what a talent. I remember Don Rogers (saw hi score in an away game at Notts Forest) and Wilf makes him look like a white man from the 1970s.

I like the fact that he tries things. Nobody invents the perfect product at the first attempt.

If wilf goes it's because we haven't kept up with him, & so good luck. Completely understandable when in championship & man u come in for him, but a little bit unacceptable now we're into our 4th season in premier & are lagging behind his talent.

Based on the horrors of 2016 and so far in 2017 it would indeed be insane for him to stay. But there is a clear objective case that can persuade him to stay.

My view is that Spurs sometimes need width but they aren't built to play with it. They are great at pressing and great at quick, intricate passing through teams. Particularly when they dispossess teams.

So I think if he went there he could be their plan b. But their plan a is a very effective one and Wilf may not flourish as --potentially -- an impact player who isn't always starting. This is especially true insofar as he may find himself used as an option against sides where Spurs are trailing. Ie decent sides where Spurs are struggling to dominate.

I think they would need an overhaul to accommodate him week in, week out. They might do that but they might not.

Joining a lesser club than Spurs is pointless. He may as well stay here if:

*We learn to do what Allardyce wants, namely playing to our strengths, covering up our weaknesses, and scoring 1 more than the opposition

*sign players who give him the ball more frequently in dangerous positions

The premier league is now such a cash cow that clubs like Palace will own players like Wilf. It's why Swansea have Sigurdsson

In which case we'd never have got him back from the manure and wouldn't be discussing the issue. But as it stands this will be his best chance of maybe getting to play in a World Cup tournament. After all he's had to put up with dragging this lot back into games every week the AFCoN will seem like a holiday. Good luck to him.
