ok, but my point was that the london marathon is actually about charity, it shouldnt have gone to mo, not 800 grand, not blaming mo, i dont dislike the guy, just the idiot that offered him the 800 grand, instead of say 25 grand!

I'm not convinced by him....

Born in Somalia and does all his training now in USA yet he is dubbed "British" and has been given a Knighthood for his achievements.. now he's moaning about him and his family being caught up in Trump's new Visa requirements.

Is he British or what?

Seems to me he's used us for as long as it suits him, now he wants to live out his days in the sunnier climes of the USA with his fortune largely achieved with a major amount of help from the UK taxpayers and lottery players.

I'm not convinced about him being "British" at all!

Her 'British' nationality was an even bigger travesty, and the true colours soon showed.

It was a barefoot lie.

Exactly....

I don't like the way cricket just casually confers a place on the England team to the likes of Petersen, Strauss etc either... or the Rugby Union team with some fine old English names like Vunipola and Itoje.

Most of these "British" sports stars give bugger all back to the country that adopts them and provides support financially. As soon as they retire off they go to spend their money elsewhere.

I love the idea that when we poach superior athletes from overseas, we’re doing them the favour.

Are you saying they don't pay tax on their earnings?

What about foreigners playing for teams in the premier league. Should they be forced to spend the rest of their days in the UK lest you bemoan them for spending their money elsewhere.

How about the UK government spending our money overseas to provide services that could easily be run by us mighty Brits?

Exactly.

The London Marathon has always paid top athletes to compete, as do many other top sporting events.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I am not a fan of Mo, there is something a little off but plenty of athletes move to train in warmer climes. Equally skiers often move to colder ones

That's a bit unfair. Andrew Strauss may well have been born in South Africa but he emigrated to England when he was six. He was educated and ;earned to play cricket here and thinks of himself as English.

Okay, we'll give Strauss the benefit of the doubt.....What about Petersen and Matt Prior then?
