That was the last league game we won without Puncheon.

Just checked and this is true - although he has played most of our games since then. We have won quite a few cup games in that time without him - even Spurs away last season.

Correct. Just need to keep Defoe quiet and watch out for van Aanholt. Oh, wait...

I can't see Sam dropping Cabaye. I reckon he wants to get Cabaye in a more attacking role which suits him better and where he has performed better for us and where he played best at Newcastle too.

My bet is he is gearing towards the following:

Mandanda (if he ever plays)

Tomkins Dann Sakho

Ward Van Aanholt
Milivojevic
McArthur Cabaye

Zaha (floating/free man/hitting channels)

Benteke

Pretty sure Cabaye has been carrying a knock all season and Macca is either carrying one or ill IMO. Never seen Macca ever run out of steam, yet last night on 70 minutes he could barely walk. We now have options and Sam isn't stupid, so I have no idea who plays. Was just nice to finally see a Sam Allardyce team out there last night.

Maybe for this week but SA has openly said that McArthur/Cabaye/Puncheon are not as good in the DM role than what he anticipates Milivojevic will be so i think he'll want to start him.

Sakho in for Delaney. And probably Milivojevic in for Townsend.

i would start the team that played tonight. why drop delaney? put himself about as usual and did well. even cabaye had a decent game.
itd be crazy to play wilf left side. he just cant play there. on his usual right, he's our danger man. townsend is left footed. its up to him to knuckle down, and deliver crosses in from the left.

Doesn't mean he hasn't also been poor for awhile.

We miss what he can do when he's not in the team, but those moments are few and far between before his cross last night.

If dropping him means a balanced midfield where Cabaye or someone else provides that contribution then we're a better team because of it.

Difficult to pick a team though considering none of us have really seen Luka play. We just don't know what his strengths are, and who he is best replacing in the lineup.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

I can safely say it will NOT be your 11.
Mandanda after a clean sheet last night.
Same again then introduce the new lads gradualy.
PS Sahko has not played since April 2016.

Palace 13th 2017/18.

I'd go with this

Hennessey

Ward Dann Tomkins Delaney Schlupp
McArthur Cabaye

Zaha Benteke PVA

Sakho will replace Delaney and the Serb to replace Cabaye once they're settled in.

Bloodyhell that's Punch, Townsend etc on the bench.. Weird having good options.

You dont pay £14 million for a player and not play him and not even on the bench in your team, especially when we have suffered at Left back
