From block H I watched their contorted faces and obscene gestures, then when they were finished I saw them giggling and whispering to each other, they were so pleased with themselves.

Yep, it's all so contrived and looks like such an unconvincing act. Watching them act as "ultras" is sometimes is a bit like watching the yanks or Japs trying to ape British football fan culture.

Just watched it, nothing to see. All ages and types were abusing them at that time. Not my scene, but everyone reacts differently.
I grew up watching throughout the 70's & 80's where you literally risked life and limb to follow your team. To this day I will never hear a good word about Liverpool's friendly fans and West Midlands police. Thing is we've always had hotheads and yoofs, must of the idiots are probably on here nowadays. The need to be politically right on is the only thing I find silly about them, but no more silly than still singing about Brighton running away and fighting for evermore because of boxing day.

Not HF & don't want to be. Just think it's pathetic 40+ year olds reporting on the activities of a bunch of young men because they support the club in a different way to you.. and get plaudits for it

Still one of my favourite Palace memories: outside Anfield many moons ago, having just been beaten by Liverpool, big skinhead scouser walks towards the leaving Palace fans and bursts into a chorus of "we hate cockneys and we hate cockneys", followed by a brief pause, and the Palace fans responding with an even more rousing chorus of "we hate cockneys and we hate cockneys". The look of confusion on the meathead's face was priceless
