You are ridiculous. Completely ignoring what people are saying. No one is suggesting Speroni is the first name on the sheet. People are saying he is a cheap Palace legend with a great work ethic who is capable and happy as a number three, much like Steve Harper has been. There will be few no. 3s with as much experience or ability. For the amount it costs and the benefits he brings to the squad it makes no sense to replace him as a 3rd choice. Same with Damo as 4th Choice CB. Why gut the dressing room, these are huge characters and managing a squad is more than just about getting the best 11 a club can afford.

When have I ever said that we don't sign Gibson or Begovic? It's not going to be a choice between Begovic and Speroni, or Damo and Gibson. We need a new CB to cover for Sakho when he leaves, and we need a reserve CB who won't play but is good enough for cover should we get 2 injuries. Begovic or Hart or whatever other name you want to pull out of thin air are the types of players who will want to play first team games or will leave, they are also unlike Jules, on enormous wages. Young keepers need to play to get better so having a young keeper as 3rd choice is pointless. Same goes with a reserve CB. As squad players, the benefits (financial, team spirit and proven at this level) to keeping them around outweigh the cons.

This squad is by far the strongest since promotion , that comment is laughable , unless of course you think , players like okeefe are better than McCarthur , ramage Better than dann , price better than speroni , kebe better than Sako , Ledley can't currently make the squad and he's better than kg who was first choice , Delaney is now 4th choice centre back and he was first team , infact until we signed dann he was our best cb.

Yeah it strong now. It was verified by big Sam in Jan.You can't tell that the squad was strong at the start of the season. When we were relying on Ledley and Sako filling voids left by jedinak and bolaisie. Swapping Dwight Gayle for an injury prone remy or a unaffective Campbell. Only one recognised left back.
