I have been thinking about what one of the commentators said during the Watford game, which I feel is very interesting and true. This that players like Zaha rely on speed, and frequent changes of direction, to put defenders under pressure. That being so any touch on him, legal or illegal, is likely to see him going to ground. He is often turning and off balance so it is only going to require a touch and down he will go. Referees have a difficult job in determining whether the touch is a foul or not, but dives they are not and many WILL be fouls. Not deliberate but nevertheless fouls. Mistimed tackles are still fouls and Wilf draws a lot of mistimed tackles. I think we need to educate the press, the authorities and the referees on this. If someone could compile a selection of video clips, demonstrating this, set out the arguments and post it here and to journalists, the FA and the referees organisation maybe Wilf will be treated better in future.

I remember Birmingham City conceding 2 penalties, one of which was nothing to do with AJ, and Steve Bruce complaining afterwards about how many times Johnson went to ground in the box.

Yes but, Wilf still gets clattered by defendants determined to stop him and willing to gamble on getting a yellow. Too often they foul him and no yellow. Some of the yellow fouls have been borderline red too.
Plus refs seem to have decided he is a diver and won't give him pens. Worse still, if they don't give the pen they have to yellow-card him for a dive. Cluttencunk being the prime example - except he was never in a million years going to give us a pen anyway. Biassed up-himself tosser. F*ck off to Dubai or whatever corrupt oil state is bunging him squillions to continue his ego-trip.

Yes Bruce was the first to comment on Andrew.
He had cocked up selling us Andrew as a makeweight for Clinton.
After that he did not get penalties.
When he was at Everton, they sent the FA a dossier on Andrews Penalty claims.
The FA said the referees were wrong.
