Well you might see it that way for obvious reasons but my attitude is more pragmatic.
Opportunists like Le Pen can only operate where the circumstances allow. Mass migration, especially involving those who refuse to integrate and in some cases have belief systems that promote the idea that they are superior and should remain separate from other groups, help promote resentment and suspicion. When you throw economic factors and terrorism into the mix you have a perfect storm. You are right that there is nothing new about it, but despite that, the powers that be are happy to create the right conditions for friction and the resulting unrest in the name of economic gain.
