Whilst Le Pen is odious, the French now find themselves with a pisspoor version of Blair in charge. It appears that a lot of people, both right and left leaning in France, simply didn't bother to vote. This is not a victory for democracy, for any political side or the EU. It's another country being run to the dogs by careerist politicians. As an aside, why are you so susceptible to false hubris recently, Michael? Every pronouncement from Brussels is greeted with masterbatory glee.

You are once again making assumptions based on your prejudice, a trait you claim to deplore in others. Regardless of her views on the EU, she is an odious politician pursuing an odious agenda. I feel sorry for the French. They have had to choose between two terrible candidates. No wonder so many of them abstained.
