Liberal use of the 'Y' word there.

After getting back from the game, my reading is that there were two key incidents that pushed the game away from us. 1, Sakho injury, sods law. 2, Cabaye on Mac.

We lost a lot of defensive discipline when Mac came off, Cabaye looked like he was wandering around the Tottenham half like a little goat halfway up a mountain looking for some moss to eat.

That all said, first half we could have nicked a goal. Second half after Sakho injury, we never really recovered.

Question is whether Palace can recover in time for Saturday - three matches in seven days is very tough, and Burnley will have rested. Plus we have lost three key defenders for the rest of the season. Burnley have the worst away record of the league and our attack should be irresistible. But I shall be very relieved to get those last three points over the line. If we win on Saturday and Swansea lose at Man Utd, I think that settles it.

A win v Burnley and a Swansea defeat puts us beyond their reach. I'm reasonably confident of a win on Saturday but that's going to be a buttock-clenched 90 minutes for sure.

Indeed. The defence was fine on Sunday without Sakho because we all knew we wouldn't have Sakho. We also did have Tomkins. Having him carted off on a stretcher is entirely another matter, especially when you are also missing Dann and Tomkins.

Please God don't let these men be out for ages. At least Dann should be available again this season.

And please God do Thou unto Grujic even as Thou didst unto the Sodomites. Sakho's injury was a bona fide accident but Tomkins' bl**dy well wasn't.

Are you sure about this one? I thought he may well be out for the rest of it.

Worst thing is that, that's what I got from it. I will never knock a player for congratulating the winning opponent, but.. WTAF? This must be how the Scousers must be feeling after Tekkers & Mama gave it some fancy finger work on Sunday.

Meh...

Sakho injury is 10000% a cruciate and probably 6 months at best

The club haven't announced anything to that effect.

I don't know, I think a nil-nil would have been fair, since the ref decided having a yellow means you have free reign to do whatever the f*** you want, they were all over us at the end but we were holding them, just. And they win through what was really a hail mary. That shot was very good but it could so easily have gone wide WH could? Should? Have got a hand to it. No-one expected to lose Sakho like that and you can argue that they are professionals but that got to hit you, especially after all the hype that's been built up around him. If we were playing like we were under Mildew we'd have shipped two three goals at the end there. I'm not actually sure bringing on Cabaye for McArthur was the right thing to do as well.

I don't know, gutted about Sakho though.

Sure, I'd take 0-0 too. Also gutted by the Sakho injury but we should be able to secure a point in this situation. Admittedly the ref was garbage, you could argue Dembele and Wanyama should have seen red in the 1st half. Just though the performance (particularly in the 2nd. half) had many similarities with our poor form in the early part of this season. Those long balls were such a waste tonight, better to keep it on the ground and play the percentages. We had 1 shot on target for the whole match, and we're playing at home !

Well, I only have their word for it, but I do STR it not being as bad as that at the time. Having said which Sam hasn't been rushing injured players back into the fray, so he might continue with Kelly and Delaney nevertheless.

But losing one centre-back for the rest of the seaon per match is hardly helpful.

Apart from Delaney and Kelly, we now have no other centre backs, fit or otherwise.
