I'm sure Parish is a big Palace fan and he has kept us in the division so far but I like to judge situations with gut instinct and by watching patterns of behavior. I find it more predictive than just believing everything I'm told and preferable to the resulting blind allegiance. I must say I do find the I'm a better Palace fan that you routine a bit tiresome. A lot on here weren't born when I was going to Palace. I have earned the right to be skeptical.

My suspicion is that Parish has stood up to Allardyce. We can take BFS at his word and wish him a happy retirement, or watch as he resurfaces at Sunderland in a few weeks. Time will tell.

How's this for speculation? Sam gets home to the wife after the Man Utd match. The wife says, "Sam, you restored your reputation. It's time for you to put me ahead of football. You're not getting any younger and keeping house alone in Bolton is boring. I want us to travel and see our grandchildren. I want you to retire." I have absolutely no basis for believing this conversation ever took place, which is the same level of evidence the speculation about a falling out between Big Sam and Steve Parish has. A whole lot of people here are putting 2 and 2 together and ending up with 5.
