My suspicion is that Parish has stood up to Allardyce. We can take BFS at his word and wish him a happy retirement, or watch as he resurfaces at Sunderland in a few weeks. Time will tell.
The bottom line is that Parish is looking after Palace, BFS/ Pulis/ Pardew were looking after themselves.

Agree 100%. Parish is noone's fool and has made the right decisions thus far to take us where we are now and I have 100% confidence in him to take us into our record 5th season in the top flight

If the rumors are true about Sam then Parish must leave the club. Apparently it's because Delaney and Hennessey were given new contracts behind Sam's back. Similar to when Parish told Pulis is which players he could and couldn't sign regardless of price. His job isn't to manage the team, once an owner starts that they need to piss off. We've lost the only two real premier league managers we've ever had because of him.

I hope you learn from your timing of your post. Probably best next time to just wait for the facts. And by the way Pullis was slaughtered in court for his actions.

Can't quite believe this headline.
Record 5th season in the premiership.
If SA has genuinely made the decision to retire then fair play. If he turns up at another club later this year though I'll be miffed (I suspect SP might have this covered though.......)

I love these posts, jumping to conclusions "its all Parish fault " now it has been confirmed that Allerdyce retired and it has nothing to do with transfers or his working relationship with Parish

I think you should take a punt and read between the lines. BFS is nobody's fool. He wants to keep his unique record intact, but next season will be very hard. So he won't burn his bridges and have no chance of getting appointed somewhere else. But if you want to believe exactly what he says...that's up to you. But there's egg and there's faces...

Great way of phrasing your doubts. Would you care to elaborate what part of his statement you do not believe?

Well, only time will tell, but I have my doubts that football management has seen the last of him.

Any article that is written can be twisted around and there are always doubters that think everything has a double meaning and can't take people for their word. Do you honestly think that Allardyce would be stupid enough, specially after the England balls up to get his representatives to put out a statement saying that this is his last managers job and then a short period later join another club. Steve Parish would have him over a barrel, not only that it would make Allardyce an even bigger fool. Do you honestly think that Parish would just sit back and go " ok Sam fair do' s without a fight or agreeing clause to the fact specially after the Pullis fiasco. Allardyce has make his choice and has stated that he will not change his mind as reported on sky sports last night. He has gone there is nothing anyone can do disappointed, hell yes I really thought we had that bit of stability this club needs in the managers department. I expect Parish and board are as stunt as we all are over this.
