Mmm , watching more football or enjoying my last day with the kids , before endless meetings about football, then by July watching more football.

Does this suggest that the search for the next Palace boss hadn't even started and claims that we spoke to silva was just fake news.

Whilst I agree there no stand out candidates. going into our 5th consecutive year. could we lure a hiddink, Blanc or Rodgers. All have capabilities to improve our squad and get us closer to that top 10. I have my doubts.

It's all fake news. Every candidate mentioned so far has only been mentioned by the bookies and that's purely because they're looking to take money of mugs willing to take a punt.

Nope. The hardest appointment was replacing Holloway - Getting Pulis proved to be absolutely the right plan.

Replacing Pulis was difficult, given the situation and then the problems with Mackay, meaning that just about everyone turning down the job (He was right not to appoint Mackay). Warnock was a necessary evil, and he got the right man in Pardew (best ever finish, best 12 months ever).

Allerdyce was the right choice again for Pardew, who probably should have been gone by the end of October.

There are some good options out there. It isn't necessary to sign someone immediately, and we're not going to lose out on players just because we don't have a man at the rudder right now.

That's probably correct. However, the new manager whoever that turns out to be, will have his own views as to what players to let go which to keep which to have as loans and which to buy. The trouble is that a new manager wont know any of this until preseason training is well underway, and that's where the delays will start kicking in. Allardyce had already gone through all this and would have known which positions to strengthen with which player

This is pretty much how I've seen things. Thought all of the speculation would be a load of bollocks until SP was known to be back from his hols.

In fact, I would have thought that most of the footballing world are off on their hols, making it exceptionally difficult to get anything done.

Even if we did appoint a manager right now, he couldn't assess the players because they're all away.

Give it a couple of weeks then people will start returning home, and will be ready to do business.
