To go into the season with just Benteke would be crazy because you know he'll get injured. A goalkeeper would be nice but I can live with slippery for another season

However, the Daily Telegraph claims Lukaku is only wanted as a second-choice striker for Antonio Conte, with the Blues boss still intent on signing one of Alvaro Morata, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Sergio Aguero first. surely they mean Benteke not Lukaku?

We need a striker desperately. Benteke is class but we need some decent cover if he gets injured. Wickham is not enough, he isn't even fit now. It will be interesting to see where Wilf plays. De boxer compared him to ronaldo and said he planned to 'set him free' further forward with less defensive responsibilities. Maybe we have another striker in the squad already in de boers eyes. Either way we need some cover up top, a keeper and a Right back.

Going nowhere according to de Boer. Good. Chelsea casting around everywhere looking for some kind of striker. Offered £88m for Higuain, knocked back, missed out on Lukaku, Morata, Aubemayang and now trying to get Aguero off Citeh. How silly of them to let Bumfluff out of their sight

One of the things that impressed me most about Wilf last season was his back-tracking and the amount of ground he could cover to support e.g. Ward and then get back forward with pace. This may mean that he and Tekers get to have a beer together in the oppo half whilst the revamped defence, not needing him so sorely, boots long balls up over their heads.

Loads of threads saying we need cover for RB. It might just be that RDB might consider playing Tomkins there. When he played there before he looked pretty solid. It would be ok in a flat back 4, but maybe not as a wing back. If RDB plans to play Reidewald, Tomkins out right would provide some cover if he is a player that likes to bring the ball out of defence. If we then buy another CB such as Chambers or Matins Indi it may well be Dann that steps down. Just a thought. Back 4 could currently be : Tomkins - Dann - Reidewald - PVA
