He has credible evidence proving covid came from a Chinese lab? Very obviously he does not because it is 100% tosh. He will produce no real evidence because he doesn't need to.

We now have an election strategy. Attack the Chinese and Biden for being soft on China. Nothing more required. No evidence necessary. Trump isn't responsible for a shocking reaction to the pandemic. Biden is responsible for personally starting it.

It is a strategy that wouldn't fool a cat... so should play well with trump's base support.

Doubtless true but his campaign team are seemingly getting worried because he needs rather more than the 44% who still say they approve of him. He needs the undecided swing vote and that looks like it is all going the other way.

In a crisis the US public normally "rally round the flag" and the President feels the love. Not with this one. The figures are flatlining, with the division as stark as ever. If anything he is losing support. If the economy doesn't recover some of the mud is going to stick and will only be on him. No blaming Obama, Hillary or Biden. His base won't vote for Biden but they might not turn out.

Biden is a weak candidate in my view but still has this to lose. Just look sensible, reliable and comforting. Nothing extraordinary or controversial. Avoid arguments with Trump. Use constructive criticism in an effort to help. Try to appeal to Trump support above his head. Look like a President in waiting and the wait for salvation from this nightmare ought to be over.

I’ve got zero time for Trump (apart from his handling of the China trade talks)

But Biden, really? I mean he’d be better but by the tiniest of margins. As in ‘anything is better than Orange Man Bad’. Which isn’t a ringing endorsement.

Also - has he just had a facelift? Probably needed TBF

Read a remark (from a noted US journalist) the other day that's reasonably astute, I think (a famous line, apparently, but I'd not heard it before)...

Trump’s supporters take him seriously but not literally, while the media take him literally but not seriously.

There's a great deal more to it than merely that, I think, nonetheless there's definitely something in that.

(Doesn't alter the fact that he's a monumental bellend and disgusting human being, mind, nor that it's a shameful stain on humanity that he could be elected the most powerful and significant person on the planet.)

The guy is off the scales of reality and logic.

I also generally rely on the BBC news for my information. However, I have noticed the continual sniping, criticism and ‘popping’ at ministers who are doing their very best. If anyone’s is interested...

I looked at the petition but what struck me about these petitions is that although you can sign it as agreeing there is no facility to disagree.

I don't disagree but I spotted another petition styled "Stop Vaccines Becoming Mandatory In The UK" which has over 75,000 signatures which I certainly disagree with unless people were issued with certificates of vaccination and those that refused would be denied certain privileges that include mixing with other people like flying, transport in general and perhaps most important of all, attending football matches

Remember the wall-to-wall coverage on the BBC (and rest of MSM) when the Republican Justice Brett Kavanaugh was accused of sexual assault in a media trial two years ago.

Now we have a far-more high profile figure Joe Biden – the Democrat presidential nominee and a former vice president of the US – with a very similar accusation, yet the coverage is almost non existent. Where's the media outrage that the Democrats have chosen to ignore this lady?

I don't think the situation is in any way comparable. Kavanaugh was facing a Senate confirmation hearing during which a very credible witness was cross examined by the committee and told a compelling story, which were followed by Kavanaugh's crocodile tears. It is completely natural that the MSM would cover such an event and would do so whatever the assumed political leanings of the candidate.

Biden has been conveniently accused during an election campaign. There has been no cross examination of his accuser nor is there any opportunity to do so. It's tittle tattle at best.

A better comparison would be with Trump himself who has also been accused of sexual impropriety but never had himself, ot witnesses, cross examined, preferring in the past to buy them off but for which some have video evidence available.

If I were an editor of one of the MSM I would also give this story a wide berth. Unless of course I was responsible for the propaganda arm of Murdoch, aka Fox "News".
