The source could be David Icke for all I care. It was published in the Express. That's all that matters. That's the readership it is intended to influence. So a respected journalist and biographer such as Tom Bowyer counts for nothing if he is in the Express. Of course they put stories in that reflects their readership and the Guardian never does that? Sorry WE that is poor from you a little scanning on the internet will tell you that the Blair story has a lot of creditability because all sorts of people from Labour politicians to civil servants have confirmed it. Bowyer was not saying anything new. Blair's government wanted to change the socioeconomic fabric of this country for good and they saw mass immigration as one of the tools to do this.

Much more likely is that the John Bolton revelations in his new book are all true and will fatally damage Trump, who is already nose-diving after all his recent blunders. What is puzzling is why Bolton didn't release these during the impeachment. Enough of the non-sycophantic Republican Senators might just have broken ranks to have got rid of him earlier. I don't doubt anything Bolton has said. It matches what we know. That Trump has little loyalty or allegiance, and his primary goal is re-election. Who's surprised by that, it's there to see. It won't fatally damage him though. It's not what he does for his supporters that's responsible for Trump's popularity, it's what he does against people they don't like. There's always an element of that, but it's ramped up with this presidency. And by fact that he's going to hold a rally in an area with rising covid-19 deaths, will not require masks, but will require signing a waiver agreeing not to sue if they get ill, this tells you that he's not really all that bothered about them or their health either.

That's the Trump excuse. Are you a parrot? There are no state secrets involved, nor revenge. He resigned, despite Trump seeking, as always, to re-write history. I was surprised he stayed as long as he did in trying to control Trump's worst excesses. I disagree with Bolton on many things, especially on Iran, but he is an honourable man. I have no doubt at all that he can see the danger that Trump presents and feels honour bound to try to stop it. So you have read it? You think that a book that criticises Trump's relationships with world leaders is not damaging to America? Is there a miasma of Cornish cannabis where you live?

The days when this kind of stuff could make a difference to a voting base are gone. Will it make a difference to the 'don't knows', maybe, maybe not.....I mean on the Democrat side they have a load of loonies kneeling, bailing out looters and a grass roots wanting to defend the Police. I guess November will answer it all. Edited by Stirlingsays (18 Jun 2020 6.02pm)
