OFCOM mate says the days of streaming are more or less over. Reckons broadcasters were losing loads of revenue because of it and have managed to convince the government to clamp down big time.

I think streams from abroad will still work, but getting them to work in the UK's gonna be tough.

You can use TOR to watch streams (although with my particular ISP, I don't need to). Sometimes it's slow, but then other streaming methods are sometimes slow. You just reload to find a quicker relay. You don't have to view ads - you can block them. You don't need to waste any money by paying for a VPN..

..and you won't get into trouble by just watching - it's not illegal.

You do not know what you are on about TOR is not for this it's for private secure browsing once you allow streaming it removes this and opens you up (TOR even warns you of this plus TOR works best running with a VPN aswell)

Who said it was illegal and sorry again you are wrong you can get in trouble for viewing people forget when you watch something online you are downloading to view it which if not protected gives the owner of the content the right to take action it's civil matter so tends to be fines (loads of cases of this happening)

wth this news measures i can see people like Sky exploiting this to scare people or claim high fines even have you banned from ISP

No, it runs off a trackers and multiple sources with DHT, so if the central tracker is taken down it still runs,generally they'll be more than one person streaming it at source acting as trackers, from their house, rather than a single person streaming from a website they've bought and paid for (there's no advertising so there's no reason for anyone to force you to watch ads, or lock your pc up with them annoying "security" pop ups that still manage to get past adblock, thesebare football fans streaming it for other football fans, not for the money) To get rid of it they have to block everybody that is streaming it individually. There's no searchable tracker or website like for example PirateBay where torrent files need to be uploaded, someone just starts streaming and posts a link, so there's nothing for anyone to focus on and shut down. It's just based on the bittorrent protocol, it's a completely different thing to downloading from PB or Kickass or anything like that, much harder to shut down. Plus it's so far under the radar as far as the cavemen in the UK government (or any government) are concerned it may take 50 years for them to catch up. It's the way everyone will be doing it when they do finally find a way to block these streaming sites.

It's worth giving it a go before the season starts see what you think at the very least. But the difference has been amazing for me.

Edit: Though I take your point, a vpn is always a good idea whenever you stream or download anything in a legal grey area, not that I've ever bothered in the twenty years I've been doing it, never had any comeback though, you'd have to be horrendously unlucky. Plus edited for clarity and expanded slightly because I was cooking dinner when I wrote the first one.
