Proper man. Dignified. Gave his all in every game. Supported the other players even when he wasn't playing. Without him in the last x games we would have been relegated in or Cup Final losing season. His good points far outweighed any negatives. Any Club Is better off with him than without him.
Probably in my top 3 of all time and I am OLD!!!!!!!

Jedi was a great servant . Great player and Captain. But no where near Jim Canon.
He's the greatest I've seen in 50 years of watching the Palace.
No one has come anywhere near him . Privileged to have seen him play in all divisions .

Jedi was te greatest ever captain of Palace in my (35) years of supporting Palace. I only vaguely remember Jim Cannon so cant really compare. I think it was an inspired move by Freedman to get Jedi here after the administration fiasco, and with Glen Murray was the reason we went so quickly from Championship strugglers to the PL. I think he was treated shamefully by Pardew whose ego couldnt take such a strong character in the dressing room. Its a great shame he kind of limped out from Palace without the fanfare of recognition and gratitude he deserved. I still remember with relish and affection his defensive displays which did so much to inspire both his team and the fans.

You have the right to your own view but it is wrong you kept repeating he was fading no he wasn't when he was put in which wasn't much that last season AP didn't even use him correctly he had him running all over the pitch that is not his strength he was best always in front of the back even dropping into the back.

before AP messed about with him he was rated by stats one of the top defensive midfielders.

AP loses the dressing room he has at every club also has to be in control he can't handle strong characters if he had the choice he would of gotten rid of even more people then he did.

Spot on. He was another victim of Pards power trip along with Speroni. Two legends who had their Palace careers ended way too soon and were then replaced with worse players for two very important roles. What an utter w***er Pardew is.

Where did this urban legend spring up from?

I assume that everyone presumes this to be the case on the basis that everything was Pardew's fault.

Shame on Steve Parish for just standing by and letting it happen

Definitely agree especially when loyal players like paddy McCarthy, Johnny Williams and Speroni have been reward for their loyalty so to speak.

Why do you persist in stating Jedinak was badly treated. His contract wasn't cancelled, he was just sold like many other footballers to get first team football.
There is no such thing as loyalty in football anymore, from either clubs or players.

Yep. Only difference between Jedinak and the others is that we were offered a good fee for Jedinak and no one wanted/wants the other three...

He wasn't a starter. He hadn't been a starter in one of our best runs of form ever, he was pretty poor for two months when he came back in. Yeah, he had some better games towards the end of the season with the cup final, but even then he wasn't the same. Not booting Rooney up in the air for starters...

We may have missed his influence in the dressing room, but again the issue there is not replacing that, not necessarily moving on from Jedinak.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

You don't bomb a player of that status and importance to the club out like that without giving them a proper send off or giving them a chance to feel the fans gratitude. See John Terry at Chelsea as an example. Okay he wasn't with us as long and his career may not be as decorated as Terry's with Chelsea. But he was just as important for us in what is arguably a bigger transformation than what Terry saw in his time at Chelsea.
He oversaw our change from administration haunted relegation fodder in the Championship to an almost established Premier league team. And we weren't allowed to thank him properly for that. That is bang out of order in my book.

Football has changed, you still have old romantic thoughts. Jedinak played in the cup final, not a bad finish. Players move it's life, it could be said Rooney was United catalyst for 10 years, but at 31 years old sold. I don't remember a big farewell party for him?
What did you expect Parish to do.
