Proper man. Dignified. Gave his all in every game. Supported the other players even when he wasn't playing. Without him in the last x games we would have been relegated in or Cup Final losing season. His good points far outweighed any negatives. Any Club Is better off with him than without him.

I only vaguely remember Jim Cannon so cant really compare. I think it was an inspired move by Freedman to get Jedi here after the administration fiasco, and with Glen Murray was the reason we went so quickly from Championship strugglers to the PL. I think he was treated shamefully by Pardew whose ego couldnt take such a strong character in the dressing room. Its a great shame he kind of limped out from Palace without the fanfare of recognition and gratitude he deserved. I still remember with relish and affection his defensive displays which did so much to inspire both his team and the fans.

I assume that everyone presumes this to be the case on the basis that everything was Pardew's fault. Shame on Steve Parish for just standing by and letting it happen

He wasn't a starter. He hadn't been a starter in one of our best runs of form ever, he was pretty poor for two months when he came back in. Yeah, he had some better games towards the end of the season with the cup final, but even then he wasn't the same. Not booting Rooney up in the air for starters... We may have missed his influence in the dressing room, but again the issue there is not replacing that, not necessarily moving on from Jedinak.
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

See John Terry at Chelsea as an example. Okay he wasn't with us as long and his career may not be as decorated as Terry's with Chelsea. But he was just as important for us in what is arguably a bigger transformation than what Terry saw in his time at Chelsea.

Jedinak played in the cup final, not a bad finish. Players move it's life, it could be said Rooney was United catalyst for 10 years, but at 31 years old sold. I don't remember a big farewell party for him?
