I've already said a couple of times in this thread - why would we want Burke anyway? We have two excellent wingers so why would we spend £15m on an unproven Championship winger?

West Brom can have him and we'll spend our money filling positions that need filling or strengthening.

Well one is out for 4 weeks and players lose form.

We need a decent 25 man squad and not a decent starting 11.

You would think that IF FDB really wants Burke things would of happened by now. And surely Freednan would hold some sway with the history he has with Burke.

If we miss out on inclined to think it's because FDB doesn't really want him... Shame as I think he's a very talented lad but hey ho... we move on.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

Yep. And yet another weeks passes. And no signings to add to an already threadbare squad.

I think we're going down this season because our chairman/owners are no longer willing to spend money. I also feel they're hoping to be ever so clever by waiting to see if FDB can somehow pull off a miracle by spending f*** all money and yet still keep us up. We won't. We'll go down and we'll deserve to either due to disinterest (see Parish being pre-occupied with karaoke and water ski-ing during pre-season) and or complacency.

I really really hope Parish and the Yanks do sell up. And to owners who are willing to invest, not only in the team and squad but from top to bottom i.e. stadium, infrastructure, academy.

I find your attitude depressing. SP is the best chairman CP has had in recent decades. He has rescued the club from disappearing, he has admitted mistakes, he has got us to the EPL, he has helped us stay there for 5 years thus far HE IS A LIFELONG FAN. OK to have few signings SO FAR is disappointing to some degree but you nor I nor anyone outside a tight circle of people know what is going on and to bemoan this that or the other shows a staggering degree of (choose one) 'panic' / 'ignorance' / 'impatience' / 'lack of any understanding'. But then again that's my opinion because as I said no-one knows what actually is going on!

Always remembering walking from the Holmesdale to the Whitehorse end at half time!

Burke if given the choice may have preferred to go to West Brom.
We may not have made an offer or increased offer as the Euro is now worth virtually a pound! Who knows?

If the Mail article is right De Boer wanted to play Burke at right wing back. What a bloody waste no wonder he chose them. Scrap the 3-4-3 Frank its too defensive.

Very disappointed if we have missed out on him. Reckon he will develop into an absolute star.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Precisely, its just one 'rumour' from a pretty dodgy source. ' Lets see what actually happens over the next couple of days

This is the 'rumour' in question. Unfortunately it looks ((to me) quite credible

We'll see how all this plays out in due course. My guess....2 signings will come in but we'll still be left way short of what we need. DF will be the new manager by November once the FDB project has imploded.

Sorry if that's depressing; however, some prefer to be realistic.

I think you'd better look up the definition of realistic in the dictionary as your vision of the future is anything but
