Niasse a no-go. Which leaves us with no cover for Benteke or a plan B off the bench. Weeks to sort this situation and it's left right until the last minute and then time runs out. That's unacceptable. 'We did our best to get Niasse' won't cut it. Another missed opportunity.

First match 5th October 1974 - not a good day!

F***ing shambles. No deal identified for a goalkeeper until what, half an hour before the window shut? Seriously? And then we were too pi**ed to fill in the forms and fax them off. Dropped the Niasse signing because of a clerical matter and stuck with one senior striker for half a season as a result.

Unless I suppose we can pull a free agent rabbit out of the hat. Fat chance. At least we still have two senior keepers, but FFS.

Competing at football at this level is hard enough without hampering ourselves with stupid mistakes and pi**-poor planning.

Total incompetence which has left us one injury from disaster.

Sky Sports still saying Niasse is coming. I haven't seen any proper report that the deal has fallen through.

Christ. We all saw the footage of him in London with Sakho, so it must be that we couldn't finalise the deal. What a shambles.

Wouldn't have been a good deal, but we desperately need another striker. Hopefully we can find someone useful on a free transfer, as they are still available to us.

Previous examples of free transfers include Flamini, Adebayor and Brolin. Guess what they all have in common? Clue: rhymes with "white".

I think Frank will be on his way out and in fairness I don't blame him. I wasn't privy to the first meeting before he came between him and Parish but I'm almost certain he would've been promised more than this. Said it time and time again that the whole approach to this window and Sakho has entirely lacked imagination and been absolutely amateurish, I'm sorry but I think it has, our priority should always be the squad and we have overlooked it entirely for the sake of not being able to identify one single alternative to Sakho that would be less money and give us more time to properly focus on other areas.

We had so much time to identify targets and get them, it is abundantly clear that we need another striker and goalkeeper and have failed miserably - and im guessing it's because we were taking the "Sakho at all costs" stance and ensuring we had the budget necessary to get it secured on deadline day, regardless of repercussions on the rest of the squad.

People can say what they want about the Frank situation, how much he doesn't suit "the palace way" and how tactically naive he may be. But the one thing no one can claim after this window is the guy has been backed in his attempts to evolve us and bring his vision to the club, be it too quickly or in baby steps. The whole appointment now just seems bizarre and you really have to question what Parishs thought process was when hiring him. Sam was backed to the hilt by Parish, Frank has been given 8mil and a big money signing on a player that's not his. This is a poor squad and I can only see a Big Sam/Pulis type of manager keeping it up this season - and sadly that ship has well and truly sunk.

I will love the club regardless of how good or s*** we are. But the frustration of making the same mistakes over and over again and seemingly never learning from them just when it looks like we've turned a corner will never tire. I don't expect the world from this club and I've sung Parishes praises from the roof tops continuously, even during the Pardew saga, I've had full blown arguments with my mates about what Parish has done for this club and the place he's got us to. I disagree refutably with some Palace fans on certain issues but I always maintain that the one thing we all have in common is that we really do love our club with a passion and dedicate a large part of our life to it, and for the first time in a while, maybe not by Parish personally but by ownership collectively & in general, I feel like this summer we've been sold short and deserve a lot better.

We, the fans ,are constantly kept in the dark. We re not alone. But when the board are not achieving our basic wishes, it does not feel good.

Sakho great.
Lack of strikers and keepers very worrying.

Honestly, we look like a second rate outfit if we only signed Sahko and left the rest of the squad so thin. SP and friends are gambling with the future of the club - its year 5 in the PL for chrissake!

I can moan and whine all I want about FDB and managerial performances to date, but leadership starts at the top and we have a board that is second rate and can't compete in the big leagues. Its a business at the end of the day and results on the field reflect the capacity of management leadership off the field as well as on it, over 38 games.

While I am still pissed at the poor start made by FDB in his tenure, he will become the sacrificial lamb - poor sod, which will reflect not only his lack of results, but the very thin hand and beneath that, rubbish deck of cards he has to play with! Parish had the chance to se the issues and make the required changes to the make up of the team to reflect the hiring of FDB and the publicized change in style, which by the way, I support as a sustainable way forward to be a competitive club.

But if you have a strategy to change, then you have to put the resources in place. Sounds like this has not happened, so we are stuck with a strategic shift in direction but no resources to execute. There was a strategy, but no plan! Crisis precipitates change and now we have a crisis it seems.
