Feel like we have missed a bullet with this player appears to be a mercenary.
Disappointing that we have not got 3 more in but is the foreign loan player window still open?

Thank you CPFC2010 for keeping me interested in football, for me no Palace no football either. Come on you Eagles.

You think we might have learned from the past. Wasn't it the season before last when we had let Murray leave and had Wickham as our main striker. He then got injured and all we were left with was Campbell up front.

We haven't even got a Campbell this time.

Poor window imo. Good loans but they are only loans and a player we all knew about last season signed at the last min instead of pre season. O but we did save 4 million.

1 striker and a s*** keeper.

Cant wait till the last day of the jan window when it all happens again and we end up with the sloopy leftovers rather than be professonal and get all the jusiness done early.

At least Ladapo will be happy.....

I am concerned that we only signed Sakho, but what a signing and I will try to be more optimistic. With him back, and Wilf and Yohan still with us, we have the same Squad that battled so well for us last Season plus the addition of RubenLC who is a quality player. On the goalkeeping front, there will be experienced free agent keepers out there looking for a Club but what is wrong with giving Jules a go and benching Wayne ? It will be good to get Connor and Papa fit again and back in the Squad but I believe that both Sulley KaiKai and Dann started out as forwards and we know how good the latter is with headers. Ladapo is still learning at a higher level but he has the attributes to be a good target man so he may well turn out to be a surprise package if he gets a run in the Team. The scenario is not ideal, I grant you, but hardly the grounds for depression. We have not, as yet, played to our strengths and now that the Transfer Window has closed, FdB will know that he will have to make do with what he has and lean on their abilities. However, he may walk away on the grounds that our Board welcomed his ideas and Plan but fell short when it come to financing them. He should make Sakho captain and listen to ideas coming out of the dressing room. Such a change will remove pressure off Punch and get him playing freely again. Whatever happens, Sakho has an influential part to play and I cannot see that he will shy away from making his opinions known. We do have a good Squad of players who are down on confidence but this will change when we revert to playing a style which they feel comfortable in. We have some very skillful
youngsters coming through who look more likely to be the ones trained for the needs of the footballing revolution that FdB is looking for. I reckon that a 4-4-2 of the following would give Burnley a good game :-

Speroni

Ward
Dann
Sakho
Schlupp

Cabaye
Luka
LRC
Wilf

Townsend
Benteke

Perhaps reasons to be cheerful and unite ?

Couldn't agree more Midlands Eagle the 5p's principle comes to mind or in our case 7P's - proper planning prevents p@ss poor Palace performance..!!

Whilst on the face of it our first 11 looks very decent we are just a couple of injuries in key positions from disaster - keeper and striker.

It's almost the identical scenario we had with left back last season and we all know how costly Pape's unfortunate accident was in - let's hope "history" doesn't repeat itself.

COYP.

Another farcical transfer window. We saved a few million on Sakho with the possible loss of 9 points as a result of waiting until the last minute. We signed no striker and no goalkeeper.

We are in trouble.

Buying Sakho earlier would not have made him any more match fit.

ONE recognised striker to get through to January... Shocking.

And I wouldn't rely on Wickham either.. Even if he does return before January he will probably be injured again within a few games.

Gonna be a long season people.

Everyone here wanted Sakho and we have him probably at a cost of nearly all our budget, however most on here are getting their knickers in a twist over a goalkeeper. We do have two goalkeepers who can do the job so people need to get things in perspective.

The following are all goalkeepers who, if available, people would be clamouring to buy:-

Hart goals conceded 10
Cech goals conceded 8
Schmeichel conceded 6
Bergovic conceded 5

Sometimes it's not all about the keeper but the team in front of him. Remember against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool last season Hennessey only conceded two. Should tell you something.

we are looking like a tinpot club. faffing around yet again on deadline day. no goalkeeper. krul was available, and the weed got him. albeit on loan, but he was available. did we even test the water with a bid? a back up striker deal falls through. be it niasse, or anyone else, we're now short. and we let anderson go out on loan.

the words brewery and piss-up come to mind

tinpot!!
