How good was Freedman in his last DOF role?

Should Freedman be appointing the new manager?

Arguably, as major shareholders, they are taking responsibility. They are being hit hard in the bank balance by all of this.

My point was he's never been a DOF, now he's one in the premier league. Dof should be advising, Parish listens to all the details of potentials and makes his choice. What went on doesn't seem to have followed that kind of sense.

Have to agree with this...some of our fans do talk a load of bollocks at times. Be grateful for what we have.

I bet its the same fans that kissed SP's arse that are now questioning him, such is the way of the morden day fan...no pragmatism or realism.

Sure he could've got players over the line quicker; but we'd have had to pay more to do so.

I hope that now with DF in place as DoF that we'll be better organised for coming windows / pre season. If there's one area I would like to SP learn from it's that organisation breeds stability. Though TBF 2 of the last 3 seasons have seen managers simply walk and leaving us in the mire just as that stability was being acheived.

Morden fans would more likely be Chelsea (wink) or (w@nk)

Utter madness to want Parish out. People say we shouldn't have to feel forever 'grateful' but quite frankly I do.

I remember going to Hillsborough and seeing us survive. It was wonderful. A few weeks later I was with my wife in hospital having a check up on our first unborn child who was days away from being born. I remember feeling anxious that this little person coming into the world wouldn't have the opportunity to support the team his dad did. The perfect image of taking my child to a game was evaporating by the hour.

Then the lloyds protest came, followed by cpfc2010. To think then that 7 years later that unborn child would now know palace more as a premier league club than a championship one is crazy. That represents huge success.

And, quite frankly, whether we're prem or league 2, if we have a palace man in charge who cares passionately for the club and is determined to keep it on a financial footing then I'd take that gladly. Too many fans have short memories and also have been blinded by the premier league. It isn't the be all and end all. Having a club is what matters.

Has Parish made mistakes? Yes. Don't we all? But lay off for gods sake! Ask Charlton if they'd like a parish equivalent at the valley. A number of palace fans have turned into spoilt brats. It's a great shame.

An excellent post. We all make mistakes. Sometimes it takes great courage to correct them. None of us know what goes on behind the scenes. It is true yesterday's performance was a marked improvement and I would have given FDB more time. But that football.

In light of recent events I feel I would like to qualify this statement and offer qualified apologies to those who were more critical of Parrish than me - I am not impressed with sacking someone just as he seems to be getting it right. We don't know the full story but this is a fiasco, and Parrish is looking a bit of a numpty out of his depth as many have been saying - really fancied us to do the Saints on Sat, god knows what the mood will be now.

The mood will be what we make it to be.... If half of our fanbase is moaning and wailing and wetting their knickers, then it won't be a pleasant atmosphere.
Hopefully the irrational, over emotional brigade might have calmed down by Saturday and we can all get back to doing what our most important role is and SUPPORT our team/players/club.

Interviews are at best artificial, lies are told on both sides. we simply do not know what was said, what was promised. Parish has acted swiftly to stop the deBoer rot, goalless, pointless and clueless. The board cannot be blamed. The strongest most persistent rumour was that DeBoer was very high handed and had a knack of belittling players, this is often the case with a multi-capped big time charlie. Part of a manager's job is to nurture players and get an Improved performance from them,DeBoer failed miserably. No other Premiership
club will want to employ him.

I understand Parish and co took a long time interviewing managers before deciding on fdb .They must have fully understood his qualities and the style of play. The necessity for new players to fit in to this style. I would suggest he has been rather thrown to the wolves. not fully supported in transfer market. And when new style (as agreed and supported by parish)isn't immediately effective....parish throws him to the wolves.
take some responsibility for the shambles Mr Parish and co !!!!

Parish needs to accept 100% of the responsibility for this entire shambles.

Think FDB's successor had been decided for a number of weeks now. Even as far back as before the first game of the season.

You want to be in charge and happy to take the plaudits when things go well?
Guess what Parish, you now deserve every bit of s*** that comes your way now.
Its Parish's fault the football world are laughing at us.

Without doubt, his time as chairman should come to an end. I'm just not sure he's up to it. He did us a great service in buying the club, and even if we were to get relegated and from there plummet down to the conference he should always be thanked for that. If it hadn't been for Parish et al we wouldn't have a team to support and that doesn't bear thinking about. That said, we need a new man at the helm. Someone who doesn't get as involved, someone who is prepared to plough in the necessary funds needed to survive in this league. When Pulis left I thought he (Pulis) was the antichrist, but with Allardyce going in a similarly inexplicable fashion it became pretty clear that stability will never be achieved under Parish. Allardyce and Pulis are perfect fits for our club, we all knew it, and when they came they did the job and proved us right. De Boer was patently not fit for this team, and I couldn't believe it when people were being shot down in flames only weeks ago for suggesting as much on this site. I didn't see the reason why we should have to wait for 'the system' to develop, when we could see with our own eyes that the basics had gone to pot. The whole thing, to my mind, has been a self-induced catastrophe. I don't like to be negative, but enough is enough.
