Hodgson and Trump.....

Not a lot in common there. However yes a 72 year old can have a few years left in a career but it’s not age that is the problem for me it’s that Roy is getting found out by certain teams this season and has no answer.

You don’t lose 3 times to Watford or twice to Brighton through just bad luck. We are player for player easily superior to both of those sides but come away with 5 losses to those outfits this campaign.

For those saying Roy should have gone at the end of last year, they must have missed his words at the last game. Kicking on and not being perennial relegation fodder was the general jist. Quite a speech it was. He was going nowhere at that point.

It seems things have run their course but parish flogs dead horses regularly, and he loves an older manager it seems. The only thing that can retire Hodgson, is Hodgson.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Like many I am frustrated that Roy does not feel brave enough to make changes to try and win a game. Was at the game yesterday and again substitutions left far to late. It was a one off game and we should have gone for it rather than wait and wait in hope!
At home we are just not capable of breaking teams down! Brighton last week was a prime example! Once the opposition score first we have a major problem on our hands due to our lack of creativity/braveness.

Saying all that I am not wanting him to be moved on as I can’t see Palace attracting a manager that could move us forward at the moment. Mr Freedman is waiting quietly in the wings and this would be a total disaster as my feeling is Parish wouldn’t hesitate to hand him the job.

As posted by someone earlier we do need to be careful what we wish for.

Dougie has no interest in managing again so I don't see this happening.

The more disappointing this season gets, the more Hodgson comes under scrutiny. I've continued to support him through thick and ( mainly ) thin, but I think his position needs looking at in the summer.

However realistic, viable alternatives are in short supply.

Where is the evidence of this ?
He was Burnley manager and I wouldn't have thought he would come out in the media and express his real desire to manage another club.

To people who say be careful what you wish for in daring to question Roy’s for his lack of ambition and verve I would contend that football is about aiming high and living the dream.
If Leicester took that view they could never have won the premier league.
The Coppell and Freedman promotion teams were built on free/ cheap transfers and would not have been promoted without drive and ambition.
The crime is to aim low and miss.

It was widely discussed and in the press at the time. However I have spoken to my lawyer and he says there is no evidence so I will retract that

There may be a shortage of suitable replacements, but have noticed former Palace favourite Tony Popovic is doing it again in Australia with a 2nd different club, Perth Glory, who are well clear in their league.....

I can't see Dyche wanting to come here. He has complete control of all football matters at Burnley

because people seem to think its a great idea to just toss away roy like hes yesterdays newspaper without offering any reasonable idea on who would replace him.

weve got a 5 point cushion without having any fit strikers pretty much all season...i would say thats a pretty good job if you ask me.

luckily for us, i imagine parish has more sense than most on here

As I asked someone before somewhere on here: had you heard of the current gaffers at Southampton or Wolves before they were hired?

Not knowing who could replace Hodgson does not preclude someone for voicing concerns that he should not be our manager next year.

so its fine for fans to throw their toys out of the pan and want a manager sacked for keeping us up on a shoestring budget, and its ok we have no idea about a replacement because southampton got a new manager bounce from hasselhoff of whatever his name is.

also it really wouldnt matter who is in charge at wolves given the level of investment & influence from raiola.

Well said.

And at least Roy hasn’t walked out on us on the eve of a new season or announced a fake retirement. And he’s certainly not using us as a stepping stone.

Given that he hasn’t been backed in the market and inherited an unbalanced squad he isn’t doing badly. OK, he’s a steady Eddy, but when has a club of our stature attracted and, more to the point, retained, an exciting and successful manager?
