Our next manager will actually have quite a cushy job. We have a very strong squad with a lot of depth in places. We have so many central players that you could play a good variety of formations. Zaha gives the option of playing 2 up front occasionally. The players on loan are banging players (unheard of for us to have good loanees).
The only confidence problem is upfront and any half competant manager can fix that.
And they have 34 games to turn things around with fans that will be thinking any performance is better than the first 3 games. Palace are full of really easily fixable problems. Its the kind of job that every manager wants.
A lot of managers will be sending feelers to their agent right now.
All Parish has to do is make the right decision...well, just a decent decision...ok just avoid making a bad one...PARISH DONT YOU DARE SCREW THIS UP FOR US...JUST COUNT TO TEN BEFORE MAKING A DECISION...

Now you know as well as I do that Steve counts to at least 10 million before making any decision

A lot will. The best ones will not. After what we just did to de Boer any talented manager whose stock is currently high will not be interested in Palace. Its become the most unstable job in the top division

A 'cushy job'? The 'kind of job that every manager wants'?

No, it's another rescue mission, and the kind of job that only desperate managers like Hodgson would take. I agree we'll probably be fine with a half competent manager, but given the recent fiasco, no promising manager is going to touch us for a while.

Needing 38 points from 34 games is so far from a rescue mission. Reactionary news is claiming FDB has been treated badly but a majority of even the most open minded fans and pundits called it early as a doomed relationship. If we had sacked him 1 game sooner Parish would have been praised for getting Palace out of this situation before it goes nuclear. Everyone in the know knew this was going to happen so its not going to deter any managers...in my opinion anyway...
