I do hope this is true Too young to have gone to The Star but what an incredible live gig line up they had over the years I found out via an older work colleague who used to go. That unassuming little pub in Broad Green.

I was drinking under age of course, The Star served you even if it was obvious you weren't old enough, half my school class were there. I think they lost their licence for a while because of it. I'm well aware what rates were, and that they were on the house. My point was you knew when you moved into a house the rates were going to be high or not. When you went through high school you had no say you were going to pay the same household tax as senior management executives. The point is that those not yet homeowners don't need clobbering any more before they've got close to getting on the housing ladder. You've obviously forgotten that in your 'why should I' viewpoint. And tonuse the shop worker example, why should he pay the same living in small and not so pleasant accommodation due to income pay the same as the office professional?
