I felt sick to the pit of my stomach watching Benteke insist on taking the penalty that Wilf had courageusly won us in the last minute and making a complete hash of it! Especially given how important the 3 points were for us. What will our reaction be to him on Tuesday night and will he be able to redeem his soiled status? To my mind he’s got to lose his arrogant and self important attitude and give 200% in every match (like Wilf does) from now on!

Cowardice lasts longer than pain.

No, should be dropped to the reserves and sold for whatever we can get for him in January. You never put yourself before the team.

Well so far he hasn't even apologised so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Of course he can. I think running after the ball and actually trying would be the first steps..

Never thought I would ever say this but i'm actually looking forward to Wickham returning.

He can BUT theres only one way, he's got to start scoring. If he doesn't hes going to have a tough time at Palace. Think he'll be getting a hell of a lot of stick at Selhurst if he doesn't. We as Palace fans are brilliant but we don't half turn quick if we're not happy!

He'll probably blame the rest of the team for not backing him 100% to take the penalty, arrogant tw*t. I hope he gets a stint in the unders until he scores a goal, but he will play simply because the alternative is Sako and he is worse. Not sure how long I am going to remain angry about this one, but I think it will be a long time.

Very easy to dramatise things and over exaggerate situations but I feel exactly the same. Still fuming that it was allowed to happen. Benteke for being a d1ck and that no one else stepped in. Gotta move on though. None the less I really hope Christian steps up Tuesday and shows character for his and our sake.

I think I will move on Tues night just before kick off! I'll continue ranting until then, it makes me feel better.

Get rid of him now. He's a £32m striker who can't score and is vain and arrogant as well - as shown by insisting on taking the pen yesterday. Why? What was going on in his head? I haven't scored this season but this one will be easy even though I have missed two of the last four pens I have taken and our designed pen taker has scored every one?
He keeps missing chances that a real striker would score from. Yesterday's pen was the ultimate, the pits.

I was so angry I couldn’t sleep last night! Still am.

How much money do they reckon each point in the Prem is worth? Millions? And we are the mugs who farcically chuck two away when they are put on a plate for us, cut into small pieces with gravy already applied. In the pantheon of things you couldn’t make up at this club over the years, this takes not the biscuit but the whole box of ‘Tea Time Assorted’.

Redemption would start with an admission of guilt.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)
