It's your attitude which is at the heart of the problem. I am not, never have and never will, apologise for criminals. All you, and your like, do is engage in a moanfest.

We are where we are. How we got there can be studied to learn the mistakes, but it serves no other purpose at all. I hear next to nothing about what practical solutions are recommended, given all the constraints which exist.

I at least try. In fact, my recommendations are pretty radical and go a great deal further than most others.

For starters, I would ban all religious teaching in every school and ensure that no teaching of any kind is done in schools by religious ministers. I would ensure the history of all major religions is taught to all children, detailing the conflicts and the harm they do. I would emphasise that compassion, tolerance and understanding of others makes for a better society.

That to apply across the board. No faiths given exemption. I would also ban homeschooling and insist that every child attend mainstream school, unless there are compelling reasons why they cannot.

I would require religious centres to be licenced.

Then I would ensure that recordings of every religious address be submitted to a review board. Failure to so would result in the withdrawal of the licence, and any address containing hate speech, or incentivisation to violence, would result in prosecution and jail if needed.

Freedom of speech advocates would hate it, but I have long argued that unrestricted freedom of speech in a democracy is a myth. It has to be exercised by a matching responsibility.

Presumably there are, or could be, algorithms designed to pick out contentious words or phrases but according to Google there are 40,300 churches, 1600 mosques and 409 synagogues in the UK as well as who knows how many others. That is a lot of monitoring.

Yes, you need to include other religions like, socialism, the NHS, BLM and trans-stuff.

Other than the power of a vote, the only other 'power' we have is to express our contempt for those that brought us to this position in the hope that better decisions will be made going forward.

What would you have people do?

Mass immigration has been a blight on our society, and it continues as we speak. This is not just about historical mistakes. It is ongoing.

You are correct that a major change in how we deal with religion is required for starters.

Just bear in mind that had politicians and people like you listened to 'moaners' like me, we would not be in this situation now.

Or Tommy Robinson.

The detail would have to be worked through. I am suggesting general principles. No doubt some areas would receive a light touch, whilst others a heavy focus. If the likes of Facebook can screen by algorithm, so can the UK Government.

Expressing contempt achieves nothing. It's necessary to suggest ways to make changes and then to get such a ground swell of opinion behind it that the politicians have little choice.

I'll pass on your view of "mass" immigration, as the situation has arisen for a huge and complicated set of reasons. We continue to need skilled immigrants, but our illegal numbers are a really difficult issue.

I am glad you agree we need to "deal" differently with religions. Make that change, get it right, and we can genuinely anticipate a different situation in a generation's time.

The politicians heard the moans, but without positive ideas about realistic changes that are within their remit, what could they do? Simplistic concepts about limiting immigration were never actually a realistic approach.

I can suggest plenty of changes, but you will tell me that they are impossible, which is rather why we are in this mess.
You would be wrong of course. Anything can be done when the right people decide it will be so. The issue is that the elites and politicians put themselves first when making decisions, not that changes are impossible.

People like you make it so much easier for them to ruin our lives.

Mass immigration needs to stop immediately, as does allowing illegal immigrants to stay here.

Our current policy will lead to the extinction of our culture and genetic heritage in a few generations.

It really won’t. What in our culture now can’t we do that you used to do? What in our culture now won’t exist in the future?

Cultures change and evolve generationally anyway. Kids these days are doing things that didn’t even exist when I was their age 20 years ago because of technology rather than immigration.

Did you not notice loads of people not from your ‘genetic heritage’ in England shirts out and about supporting the team during the Euros? Immigrants largely buy into our culture, it’s why they want to come here.

I’ve grown up and studied with first, second and third generation immigrants from all over the globe and they fit in culturally just as well as I do.

But hey, I’m ‘brainwashed’ despite living the reality all my life so what do I know.

Fit in much better than the internet dwellers on here in the twilight of their lives.

These mythical "elites" you so like to blame for all the perceived ills have no power at all. We do. Us, the electorate who choose the politicians. What you think is "right" has to be shared with enough others to elect enough politicians to carry them through. Not impossible. Just highly improbable. Then, of course, you would hit the brick wall of internationally agreed conventions, which would stop such changes being enacted in the first place.

I don't make this any easier at all. It's just the way it is. We all need to come to terms with it and find practical ways to live our own lives the best way we can.

Our culture has always evolved, and always will. There has always been immigration and the absorption of new cultures. My mother had never heard of, let alone eaten, Chicken Tikka Masala, but it is now the UK's most popular dish, replacing Fish and Chips as Britain's national dish. You might hate that fact, but fact it is and a lot of people seem comfortable with it. The culture might evolve, but it won't be replaced. The youth of today don't think like you. Does that matter? Not in my opinion!

Genetically too we will evolve, just as we always have, and that matters not at all. What does is what lies beneath an appearance, the values and standards that are held. We shape them. Not genetics.

Try walking around Newham and see how much you fit in. Or are made to feel there’s a chance you might. We all grew up with people from different backgrounds - the world didn’t start thirty years ago.

Would have more in common with people in Newham than people who went to Eton.
