Assuming that Roy is happy to stay and manages to keep us in the PL what happens in a couple of seasons? I feel we should be planning for that now and looking to bring in someone who is 'Palace' through and through to take on the mantle.

Maybe we should be looking at someone like Sean Derry or even Jedi to come in and learn under Roy?

Views?

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

Yes I agree. Bring someone in who can serve an apprenticeship If you like under Roy whilst earning their coaching badges.

Our pattern is obviously to alternate decent managers with muppets so after Hodgson it will be time for another muppet.

Especially after that business with Miss Piggy and Pardew

He'd never move back here.

I do think its something we should be planning for now rather than later so we could maybe avoid another muppet

No. I never want to see any more managers coming here just because they once played for Palace. We are a proper club now.
We have to have a top class manager next time from where ever they are available.
I hope Roy lasts a few more seasons. He is a top man.

Agree Roy is a top man but realistically he won't be looking at more than another couple of seasons and I would hate to see us mess it up again with a poor selection. Roy has come in with a real feeling for the club and to me thats a big plus for any new manager - not to get someone who sees us as a stepping stone to a bigger job

I hope he steps aside on the up rather than a decline which I think is inevitable for most managers after a couple of years. Players for whatever reason tend to stop responding and putting in the performances.

Actually Roy being here if and after Zaha leaves would probably be best.
