If we can get 20M that would be a result. At the moment he is an expensive non performer. And please let's not go to the " how many headers he wins " red herring. Unlucky for us we have him when he is performing poorly and seems to have given up on the season. Originally posted by Jacey

Can't see him being in the line-up any more this season - unless for injuries to certain players. Adios CB, you are probably in top disappointment 3 ever for any Palace player. 2 goals in more than 20 odd games - PVA with two in two!

Been looking through the official premier stats. Benteke has some good stats but sadly the big one is. big chances missed he his in second place with 18, but you will surprised who is around him in that stat,Salah has 19 Kane 16 but sadly they have more chances created for them,time to rest him

I'm boring myself the amount of times I have commented on this thread so apologies haha For me he is or should I say was a fantastic striker. I couldnt believe Palace had signed a player of his calibre at the time. His first season confirmed how lucky we were the yanks wanted to push through his signing. Problem is he has had a complete breakdown in front of goal. He is no longer the player he was. His confidence, as we all know is shot to pieces and he is just unable to function properly. He had not exactly set the world alight before the penalty fiasco but I think this has really affected him and just cannot get himself out of the black hole he is in. You could argue that he does not look like he cares, doesnt try and ultimately doesnt want to be here any longer. I so wanted him to get over this hump but I just dont think he looks like a character who can turn the situation around by himself, gods knows we have given him the time. I think we have to accept he is not the player of last season and have to move on to the young, raw Norwegian. What else can we do? Theres always the chance Benteke will have some fire in his belly coming off the bench however unlikely it may seem. Its a crying shame as a confident Benteke is one of the best in the league, thats the most frustrating feeling I have with him.

Call in Romark or someone similar it has to be better than taking a (minimum) £10m loss on him. He still has it but fears the goal.
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

he 27 years old for god sake. He's not the player he was my arse. His positioning has been poor this season and unless hes lost all memory then usually the reason for this is management tactics. To say hes not the player he once was is laughable though. He has plenty of years left to regain the confidence and firepower
