It seems Amadou is also just as comfortable playing in midfield. I believe he has played half of his games for Lille in midfield. I also seem to recall Roy saying he wants to strengthen the midfield, so I wonder if this could be a case of him coming in to give us cover at CB with the current injuries but maybe moving to mid in the future (Maybe if Cabaye goes in the summer). All that said I thought this was the role Reidewald was meant to do.

Yeah it was, but that was De Boer's plan in a system that didn't work. Reidewald is still a young lad with potential who hopefully will catch the positive vibe in the squad and take any chances he gets. I feel he will probably not be trusted as centre back anymore unless absolutely necessary.

I'd say there is a strong argument that the current situation of Dann and Sakho being out long term may well constitute `absolutely necessary`. We also have TFM who can play CB. My concern is that 16mill of funds may be spent to plug a short term gap which would otherwise have been used in other positions (ST and GK).

Talk is that Dann could be out for a YEAR, and what with Tomkins and Sakho being a bit injury prone, i would think another C.B is essential.
