If he plays for 5 years its a very good deal, from what I have seen of him on the tv games; admittedly not a lot though.

How free a player is once out of contract is bit of a myth as well, Guaita may be able to demand a higher signing fee if he is in demand - a fee that could end up being close to the 8m we are paying now. There's a reason Sanchez has gone to Utd now and not in the summer.

BREAKING NEWS Getafe goalkeeper Vicente Guaita has passed a medical at Crystal Palace – and could join the Premier League club in this window rather than in the summer, according to Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague. The 30-year old is out of contract at the end of the season and has agreed to join Roy Hodgson’s squad as a free agent. However, the keeper is understood to have a release clause allowing him to leave in this window for £3.5million.

So pre contract agreed medical done but might not Join until next season if Getafe cut their noses off to spite their faces , that’s all well and good but what do we do about the new gk we need now ?
