Correct me if I'm wrong but if an on loan player picks up a season long injury does he not head back to his parent club same as Loic Remmy did with chelsea ? And if its a season long injury should it not free up a loan spot in the squad? Im not really sure of how it works . Great player though .

oh yeah ,fcuk off brighton.

If injury is a lengthy one that is suggested I am surprised at Palace's reluctance to send him back and I rate him highly but cant see what advantage it gives us (unless we are hoping to sign him!)

Yes that usually is the case obviously Roy thinks he will be fit before the end of the season. Personally I would send him back and get an experienced defender on loan.

Only ever performed fitfully in his time here. Not convinced by him tbh. Played well in a nil nil friendly with England, and people have got carried away.

Yes I am of that opionion also . The reports are that he won't make the world cup so I can't see him playing for us again this season. A good experienced defender or striker on loan , but please not van persie or Lord benthner.

Can we really afford to have both him and Cabaye sitting out games for a period of time. Will this impact Roys feelings on keeping him on I wonder?

No not convinced with him either . He is also very injury prone for a young lad . And we have enough of them in our squad.

Remy went back to Chelsea for treatment, the loan wasn't cancelled.

Usually with long term injuries the parent club treats them as the player is their asset and wants to make sure they are treated correctly.

We should have cancelled Remy's loan as soon as he was injured. Chelsea have stitched us up with loan the last 3 seasons.

Thank you . A lot clearer now. So should we cancel the loan contract for RLC . Roy said he will need surgery so . Not much hope playing for palace again unless we buy him but tbh I don't think we can afford him. Also will the club get a refund for the loan fee paid for him. I recall a 3 million loan fee being mentioned.

It depends how long it’s going to be. It may be less bad then they thought, it’s not clear with his injury at the moment. I’d suggest if it’s months rather than weeks cancel it, but he was our best player for the first 12 games and looks very classy.

I’m not sure I get why people on this thread are slagging him off, he was streaks ahead of everyone in our team bar Zaha when he was playing.

Yes a great player and a power house when attacking and holding up the ball and was linking up well with zaha . I think what people are not so much slagging him off but concerned he is a bit injury prone and let's face it at the end of the day he is a Chelsea player . Having said that I would love it if we signed him permanently. We could have done with him today.

Young players do tend to pick up injuries. This is his first senior season so he is not yet battle hardened. I like him and hope he recovers quickly. Would love to sign him.
