If the deal is as most reporters say, then Villa would probably give the money to the Turks, they would pay us to complete the deal and then the Turks would sell straight on to Villa and pocket the difference. We lose about 50% of what we paid for him. Another all round fabulous Palace deal. Maybe we have a sell-on clause in there, just in case......

Why oh why do you all care so much ? He was absolutely horrendous for us and had to be let go. Celtic let Puki go for free to Norwich and now look at him, he’s probably worth 20 odd million. These things happen in football. It’s not your money so don’t stress about it. Benteke, except he was given a new contract.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Where's the Sorloth Thread?' by Midlands Eagle Most people, myself included, thought he was a terrible footballer for us. He seemed to need a SatNav just to find out where he was supposed to go and his finishing was shocking. I think it is a bit much for people to turn on the club given most were surprised we were even going to get a fee for him of any sort. If a player scores 15+ goals in any league these days the fees banded around seem to be astronomic, especially when PL clubs are interested, and so often they fail to live up to it. Joelinton being a prime example. Maybe Sorloth was hiding his talent from us, or perhaps he has evolved like an over-sized Pokémon into a decent striker? With more game time perhaps he may even have flourished with us...eventually. Maybe we'll regret this, or maybe he will move to Villa and be awful for them.

At least that'll have to be next season as he can't join them this year. Tbh I'd be surprised if both Palace and Villa are still in the prem next year.

Twenty appearances for us and absolutely toilet! Lacking in effort, application and ability. He may have found his scoring boots for the Turkish league but that’s championship standard at best and Villa, Monaco or anyone else for that matter are welcome to him. I don’t want to see his pathetic, slow, petulant fouling frame in a Palace shirt ever again. I do however find the whole loan deal agreement perplexing though. Of course I’m only commenting on what has been said on here and don’t know the exact details but it is bizarre (and bad business) if we actually have no say in what happens to him at the end of the loan spell and have no recourse to any onward sale or the subsequent fee. Perhaps it was part of the negotiation for the terms on which Trabsponzor would only agree to take him. Who knows?!

He was s*** and got worse with every cameo appearance, but that happens when you dont play regularly.
