Yeah probably, and I agree that Benteke has been a puddle of p1ss this season. Nobody foresaw that happening before we signed him and definitely not last season.

It's just not that simple that we should have Murray and Gayle now and we would've been alright all the way through. BTW Benteke scored 13 x goals in the previous season from open play (not pens) in the Premier league. Which I still don't think is good enough.

And I am one of them. I think that what actually happened was that Murray was told that Wickham was now the no 1 striker and so he was going to be bench only most of the time. Pardew did like to play his purchases. Murray realised he wasn't going to get a look in and left and I don't blame him. He should have been told that he was no 1 but that it was up to Wickham to displace him - good management and if he didn't perform he would have been expected to be dropped. I don't mind that Gayle went - only Murray (oh and Jedi of course)!

Also his passing was awful at the best of times. The up side was that he showed courage all the time, made big decisions and never hid. I was there during one game he was benched and he looked sad, i could see it in eyes that he new it was time to move on. So glad that we probably had him at the peak of his career, most Palace fans will remember him fondly.
