It's not been a success so far. Let other leagues keep using and perfecting it then maybe start using it in a few years time.

One of the issues raised is the communication in the stadium with supporters unaware if a decision is under consideration between the referee and the VAR. If the pitch screen is going to be used the referee signals the shape of the screen so supporters are aware that he is about to look at the TV footage.In other incidents referees place their finger on their ear piece but this isn't seen by everybody - maybe there could be a signal of two hands in the air whilst communication is taking place which of course would be seen by all in the ground.I have heard it suggested that information could be relayed on to stadium screens but not all stadiums have screens which can be seen by everyone. I suspect the general feeling is that more time is needed to refine and trial the system in the PL and indeed educate the supporters, before it can go 'Live'.It will happen for sure. The main annoyance for me is that people at home watching on tv can see replays galore, yet the paying fans in the stadium cannot see anything and just have to wait, and wait, and wait. If the whole point of VAR is that the correct decision is reached, then why can't the paying fans in the stadium see the video review as well. We're not going to riot because after all the correct decision is always (supposedly) reached. Let the fans in the ground see what the armchair fans can see, or don't bother with VAR at all.

At the moment clubs are not aloud to replay contentious play on the screen inside the ground as they feel that this may cause problems with fans. I'm sure this will relate to a lot of issues that VAR is being used for. Potentially clubs can be fined for showing this.

The actual decisions once made most people would agree with. I am not surprised that the chief objectors are the big boys as I suspect they get the most home decisions and they want to protect that.

I think everyone is looking to how it works in the World Cup before committing to it. After last night's UCL match, there will be more calling for it since the officials had a total 'mare.
