Why was getting dissed by a chaotic England team in transition and instead choosing playing for his native country a bad choice? I wonder if the rumors about Drogba having a word with him about representing/inspiring a nation instead of being treated like an "if we feel like it we'll let you know" are true. If the rumours are true then he didn't exactly endear himself to the England hierachy with his behaviour/attitude whilst representing the England U21 side.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle Genuine question: What is it about "a club like Everton" and "a city like Liverpool" that "guarantees" that Wilf would be a flop if he went there? _____________________________________________________________As a club Everton are only slightly better than Palace on account of having a bigger budget. As for the City, Wilf is a London boy who could not settle in Manchester, he has said he would like to be closer to his family, I do not think he can settle well in Liverpool. he should also look at the case of Yannick Bolasie who was great at Palace but was a big flop at Everton.

Hazard and Sane fit into the "proven world class" category. Mahrez is more comparable but, as Rudi points out, he was a key component of a title-winning team. This is my point. At the age of 27, Wilf is seen as a bit of an underachiever by those outside of our club. AWB can get a move at 21, as Wilf did, because coaches want to get them early and mould them. By 27, they want the finished article.

And the jury is still out on him outside of cpfc. He needs to understand that fully and not just agree to Roy or whoever telling him. He needs to really understand it, because that’s how it is. Those bids by Arsenal at £40 mil and Everton lol at only at £52 mil max say so. That is the reality.

We are a roller coaster ride. I don’t know about anyone else, but I am on a super high one week (eg against Villa last week) when I genuinely think we are world beaters, then a super low now and all the old demons come out again. SP, transfers, substitutions, Wilf, Benteke etc etc.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle I think Zaha actually played well yesterday but they had a set plan to foul him everytime he tried to break which had to be instructions from Poch because it happened so often. I think after the summer mess that the damage is done now and he looks awkward on the pitch for us. He is definitely trying but not with the raw emotion of last season. He wants out the fans know he wants out so wont really get behind him. I myself struggle to have the same feeling towards him as I did last year, he is just any aul player to me know. I would usually be up and screaming when we ran at defenders but now I struggle to encourage him. He is a mercenary to me know playing for himself to catch the eye of another club. Hopefully not by getting relegated though.

If Chelsea want him and I'm not convinced. I thought Hudson-Odoi, prior to his injury, was starting to show more end product than Wilf and he's young enough for a club to mould into a more complete player than Wilf. Chelsea still being touted as a possible destination come January but that could be because a part swap deal for Michy is seen as an option. And with cash on top that could meet Parish’s valuation. I thought Zaha was ok against Spurs. Not much more he could have done under the circumstances.
