Match stats this season strongly suggest that's the case.

Doesn't a lengthy injury list plus inadequate cover have a lot to do with it to say nothing of giving away soft goals in the 90th minute.

The problem with an over reliance on one star player is that a serious injury and we are well and truly in the brown stuff

Hopefully not in the future with the right acquisitions but we earned zero points with Wilf so currently we need him rather than are a one man team. I’d rather us be closer to be managing without him more than we currently are when or if we sell him.

We could’ve earned a few points without him at Burnley or perhaps a point at Anfield but Frank is a stubborn and divisive character and we’re miles away from being able to compete over a longer period of time without Wilf. Frustrating but true.

We’re trying not to rely on one but we currently Wilf is the difference. To get to the point of not relying on Wilf we have to keep relying on him while we build on perhaps one day not needing him before he retires or his legs go in his twilight years.

He's priceless to us, he is irreplaceable and the club will never be the same when he leaves. Firstly the chances of finding an adequate replacement are next to none, any players that could come in and already proven to be better would never join us and even in the best case scenario which would see Ronaldo or Messi replace him they wouldn't have the same love for the club, they don't understand the local area, the fans. He's palace through and through. There's not been one player who's came through our academy that has had as much Of an impact on our club than zaha.

Amen.

It's actually pretty crazy to think that a player like that is at a club like ours.

- One of the best attackers in the league
- Probably top 5 for dribbling in the world
- Local boy
- Came through the academy
- Loves the club and local area
- Speaks his mind about Br*ghton and has an amazing record against them
- Gets better every year!

We are so lucky that he's here

To sell Wilfried Zaha would be sacrilege

To even suggest he can be bought for money is heresy.

Members of Selhurst Village, I beseech you to take up your pitchforks, light your torches and follow me as we seek out the monster that is making these suggestions.

No good will come of this!

Devils advocate....arrrrrre we being a little bit ridiculous with our assessment?

Is he our best player? Yes.

Is he our most important player? Yes...although I'd argue Luka isn't far behind.

But there's a lot of stuff in here that's quite full on. One of the best players in the world? Top 5 wingers in the world? Worth $150 million??

I just think we need to check ourselves. There have been games (even this season) where Wilf has gotten frustrated and achieved nothing all game but a tantrum. His goal/assist stats are getting better each season...but they're still a way off the likes of De Bryne/Hazard/Sancehz etc.

Are we being realistic?

Let him go on a ‘free’ then

Yes, IMO we are being realistic, he is priceless to us, he is our talisman. Just one look at the fire in his eyes and you know he is right up for playing for us. Yes he has the occasional bad game, but who doesn't and I genuinely believe he gets better and better each year as he adds more to his game. I would put him in the top 50 players in the world and in the top 5 players in the world for dribbles, take ons.

If you don't agree with this, please name 5 better players at it.

What we do need to do is bring in some genuine competition for his position so that in the event he is injured we can cope with his absence.
