As a retired Met Police officer since last year I've had mixed feelings watching the news the last couple of weeks...

I'll be honest part of me watches this trouble and just wants to get kitted up again and swing that baton and crack some heads...

We have become far to soft in my opinion and I knew this for probably the last 6 or 7 years of my service..

Policing has changed massively and ive witnessed and experienced that change.. Alot of it, but not all for the better ill admit..

My opinion on large scale public disorder has always been as a tax paying member of the public what do you really want from your Police??... You have to remember that in a riot situation the wheel has well and truly come off.

In a riot scenario the time for talking is well and truly done. Its every man for himself and you must meet fire with fire.. Its the only language that can be spoken in a riot... My attitude was if people are coming to me with weapons/missiles then you can bet your life I'll do you before you do me... Thats human instinct though..

The problem now is the senior officers in charge of these situations are typically left wing pussy boy mouth pieces who have never had a tear up in their life but they speak intellectually and pander to the popular narrative, whatever that maybe...

Thats right.. I was on my firearms course the day that happened.. I think she was a commander at the time and she was in charge of the operation that day (If memory serves it was called Operation Kratos) I was stunned when she became Commissioner!!

I've had a few Commissioners in my service.. If you speak to any copper with a fair amount of service or retired they will all tell you that John Stevens was the most respected Commissioner the Met had because he worked his way up from a PC on the street so us rank and file officers looked up to him.

Haha thats right.. But that was Stevens for you. An honest man who couldn't be politically persuaded...

He also got put in charge after he retired of an independent inquiry into Princess Dianas death.

When it was announced Muhammad Al Fayed said he was pleased because Stevens was a decent and fair man... When he came back and reported there was no foul play Al Fayed went mental and slagged him off bigtime saying the Queen had put him up to his answer!!

I take it you was a black cabby then??.. Alot of retired old bill actually do the knowledge and become black cab drivers..

Haha I bet that was a funny journey with him.. Dont get me wrong I feel for the guy, he lost his boy at the end of the day but he's always been as mad as a box of frogs!!

But ordered the girls minding their own business to get up? That"s no different to the blm people asking the police or whoever to kneel down, shocking, if they refused what would have happened? You can"t be defending them , surely?

I think that WE should, along with all right thinking citizens of Cornwall, open up a 'Black Lives Matter' organization based in Cornwall. An office that is dedicated to relocating black lives into Cornwall to provide it with the diversity and inclusivity Cornwall needs.

Only by promoting and enabling black lives in Cornwall can the one race of humanity truly be represented there. Cornwall needs an economic recovery and an influx of young men and women can provide that much needed economic boast.

I say, stop the virtue signalling and start enabling.
