Christ! Not that long ago we were saying a SACK O’ potatoes would be a good replacement.

Sorry, what does your comment mean? Sako doesn't want to sign a new contract so will be going on a free. We need a replacement and ideally an upgrade which I believe Antonio would be.

Shame I liked Bak Sak, but let’s face it, if it wasn’t for the injury crisis, he wouldn’t have got a sniff of 1st team action last season apart from the carabao reserves cup, weighing in with a handful of goals in December and January hardly puts him up there with our all time best forwards, so no great loss.

In a Helsingor post match interview Roy talked about replacing quality players like Loftus-Cheek and Cabaye. I don't think replacing Sako is a priority, especially if resources are limited. We also need another forward IMO. Wickham is injured (according to Roy) so I would not be comfortable going into a new season with just Benteke, Sorloth and Wickham.

Agreed, spent most of the time injured on high wages. He is too heavy for the rigours of the Premier season.

Not the same without Crak, though.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I know but he’s also arguably not to this level and definitely rarely fit anyway so although we’re down another, how often is he counted as one to be down anyway?

He had one very small golden spell in 3 years and more injuries than i can remember. Liked him but he has to go. Opens up for getting RLC either as purchase or loan.

I would see if we can get a relativity cheap championship winger with potential as a replacement. Antonio only if the price is right.

I like Bak, always came across as a very jovial chap, hope he does well. He was like a less tricky Bolasie.

Jovial? for £60 grand a week I bet he’s the life and soul of any party .
You can get ‘jovial’ for a few pints , a pack of crisps and a benson in any weatherspoons in South London.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Bakary Sako' by bexleydave

I thought we had a really good transfer window, but aren’t we a bit light on wide cover.
Bakary hasn’t signed for anyone yet (I think) so is a free agent...is he worth a punt to have another chat with.....see if there is a compromise on wages from all sides ?
