Providing a decent pie, pint and chips should be simple - some fans won't be interested as a bit of grub is not part of their match day experience. But for many it is - and for this reason alone the club should be doing much better.

As you say, should be simple but is beyond the current suppliers

 


Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I cannot understand why the club cannot have a bit of 'food zone' where they have various stalls selling a fusion of different world foods-Chinese, Indian-curries-samosas-bhajis etc, Crepes, Soups, Paella, Donor Kebab's, Jacket potato's as well as Burgers and Frankfurters.
Maybe even a vegetarian food stand or a hog roast every now and then!

These stalls are in high streets food zones & markets all over the country. They are self sufficient in terms of equipment and may only need electricity to run part of their operation.
They would have to staff there stalls and they mostly know how to serve people quickly, efficiently and provide good service.

In say the Holmesdale stand to find a stall selling 2 different curries as well as samosas & bhajis or to be able to buy a container full of stir fried chicken noodles would be amazing. Beats queuing for a burger!!

If I was the club I would find 8-12 interested stallholders all selling different foods. give over say the frankfurter stand in the lower Holmesdale and another in the upper as well as 2 elsewhere in the ground divide up all the home games amongst them and have different foods sold each match.
Stallholders obviously pay a fee for the pitch but more importantly they then provide a vastly impoved service in terms of diversity to football fans in terms of 'food choice'.
It costs the club nothing to run and will make us the fans a lot happier!

Also in all the bar areas you need appointed staff to just continually pour drinks out and take the tops off bottles, always having a supply of poured drinks ready when you are busy. Whilst having other staff only serving customers by picking up those poured drinks and already opened bottles.
You also need enough stock to start with this means your fridges full and the bottles cold!
This would speed up the whole bar operation considerably for what is at times a busy session. Therefore keeping fans happy and presumably making more money!

I agree with pre poured drinks , it is done at festivals and rugby games so why not at Selhurst ?

I agree with the concept of a food zone although not necessarily your choices.

I went to an outdoor concert in the summer where they had half a dozen pop up food sellers and the biggest queue seemed to be at the fish and chip stand and at cricket matches and Cheltenham race course it's pulled pork baps that draw in the customers

The last time I bought hot food at the ground was 2002. It was rank.

There is simply no way I would start again.

bring back 'westlers'
for those not old enough, they were burgers out of a tin, boiled in water and stored in the water ready for immediate dishing up in a bap with onions.
A couple of these bad boys were essential on a match day.
Absolutely rotten, had 4 once.

was at arctic monkeys gig at brum NIA last night & a “meal deal” including postmix soft drink was north of £8 & 400ml bottle of heinekin £5.40...suddently makes selhurst good value haha

bloody hell! £5.40 for a bottle hieneken.
my local asda often does a deal , Hieneken, tiger or amstel where you get 3 crates (36 bottles 330ml) for 36 bottles @ £21 quid.

Back to the westlers, I remember the big catering tins, last time I had a westlers must've been 90's but I remember them being crap(but nice after beers)

whats the actual meat content , 50%?

Actually it's 90% meat! Pork smoked over beechwood.
