Pure Socialism is Communism lite.
Capitalism has to serve the people and not just exploit.
It is not perfect and is often driven by greed, but the process has given us all we now enjoy as a society as well as the negatives. The NHS would not exist without money. It was founded with someone else's money. Money that was created by capitalism.

Interesting view. If that were the case, then any left leaning politician would just get rid of the BoE and just print their way to 'equality'.
Capitalism will always be tarred with the inequality it causes, which to be honest is dependant on the politicians more than anything else.
I do believe party donations should be banned and there should be some sort of public fund account for the established parties. Any parties trying to come through can be funded as they please but would need to have 100k signatures or something like that to be allowed 'into the club', when they would have to renounce any private funding.

I can see the world becoming a communist society, maybe in 50 years or 200, but at some point we will reach a stage where a billionaire is worth just the same as an average Joe and only their intellect will really separate them.

I wonder who will fund Premier League clubs in that scenario.

Capitalism is about to run it's course.

In an age where we are about to make up to 70% of the workforce redundant due to automation, robotics and AI you cannot leave all those people to fend for themselves.

I'm not sure universal basic income will be the answer but there needs to be much better ways of distributing wealth.

There's a very good book out at the moment called 'Moneyland which analyses the political and economic changes that lead to where we are now.

It argues that after Bretton Woods and in order to escape taxation, London began to print eurodollars and issue them outside the knowledge of the US legislators to whoever wanted them. Regulation was so lax that you could exchange real dollars for these with very little accountability and register your business anywhere.

What this has lead to is tax havens making up the third biggest economy in the world. This is the Capitalism which people are against nowadays, particularly after 3008, where QE in effect was pushed to prop up this economy at the expense of taxpayers, as it devalued our wages.

I do think there's an issue in the resentment of our time. Not because it isn't valid at the unfairness of companies generating wealth through our Labour and offering little to no returns to society of it. But we don't realise how to take it down, and are directing anger at the wrong places. On the lowest level that is towards migrants, above that to a government without the will to reclaim sovereignty on this issue.

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4

I agree, but I'm not sure it will be for another few decades yet. The main problem is we have politicians in charge, which I honestly believe will need to change at some point because all they seem to be able to do is debate and turn us against each other. I voted remain, simply because I knew that leave would decrease the price of my house. It was that simple. From an ideological pov, I do believe being out is the right thing, but and there is a massive but, we have to trade with people and even if we are out, there's no guarantee that we still don't have to follow their laws and allow the free movement of EU citizens even if that is not what it's called.
I do actually agree with limiting the entry of workers/people to the skill set we need. I'm not too sure of the figures but if wages are being surpressed in the building trade and we still allow 20,000 builders a year to enter our country then guess what? Wages will be stagnant.
There is also the cultural change it brings too and mainly the speed at which it happens, especially for the mid to older generation. You can call it whatever ist you would like, but it's a valid concern.
But, really, our politicians have failed us miserably with their incompetence and not just one party, the whole lot of them.

Make the wealthy less wealthy. Ok
Then tax the workers. Ok
Then give it to the poor. Ok
When the wealthy are poorer and the workers realise that they are working to give to lazy t***s.
Or baby machines.
So they then give it bollocks.
What then i ask happens.
The wealthy hide it,(even more before i get hammered) the workers stop working, the poor then got nothing.
Anarchy prevails.
Think venezuala and this surely is the opposite to capitalism , say , socialism.
Dont seem a good idea.
