Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Slightly different.
In this case the bakers were not refusing to supply a cake or agains the couple ecause they were Gay, but because they felt the requested inscription was wrong.

What is surprising is that the couple concerned made such an issue of it. There are other bakers! Some people are unbelievable full of their own importance and sense of entitlement. Hope the case cost them an arm and leg

Sorrry for the duplicate entry. Was trying to correct first entry - not create a second!

It must be the right of a proprietor to serve whomever they please. However, discriminating against homosexuals on religious grounds is pathetic and idiotic.
The fact that the cake had a specific slogan clouds the issue somewhat, but quite honestly, if a customer wanted a cake that I didn't approve of, I'd just charge them double.

Religion don't pay the bills...unless you are the Pope of course

It wasn't a couple, it was an "activist".

And it cost the taxpayers an arm and a leg, not him.

"Questions will now be asked as to whether the Equality Commission was right to spend more than £250,000 of public money on this case."
