This post has been merged from a topic called 'The rise of Aaron Wan-Bissaka: ‘A lot of the time ' by Midlands Eagle What an absolute credit to the club. Future Palace legend, if we can keep him.

I find it unbelievable that so called fans on this group want to let our best players go for “their own good” and because “ they have been such good servants to us”.How are we supposed to get anywhere with an attitude like that. How about we keep our best players and get better ourselves. Maybe we could beat City away again next season or maybe we should just accept that we are poor Palace & don’t deserve good players. Unreal!!!!!!!!! Sound more like the Plastics down the A23!!! [ Agree 100%

Agree. we need to keep the talent that we have developed. I have heard (BBC Gossip) that Roy has been discussing (with Mr Southgate) AWB gaining senior England caps. Our Gareth will be welcome to attend all Palace home matches for the next two seasons; his being at Selhurst Park will be a great incentive for our developing talent. COYP

Interesting thread. Would be terrible to see AWB go, however much money a club gets for a player of real quality, I tend to think it's never made up for with purchases that come in. I'd always prefer to keep the player who has proven their quality in the team than hope new acquisitions compensate for their loss. Also not particularly convinced a move to City would be great for AWB. As others have said, it's quite early for him and I think he'd risk sinking without trace when foreign imports come in, then have to start all over again at another club (or maybe come back to Palace, with a tidy profit for us). The City's of this world just have limitless capacity to bring in players, see if they work and let them go if not. I think (/hope) that AWB needs Palace as much as we need him at the moment, he's guaranteed first team football. Also if we let players of AWB's calibre go, it really does say something about our ambition to push on to the next level. Edited by Palace Pat (14 Feb 2019 2.42am)

Hopefully Southgate realises that having a pool of players to pick from who are first choice for their team is better then being a squad player at a big club (See the article on RLC posted today).

The RLC article is a good read & makes the point of clubs not wanting to sell a player but neither allowing them to play either, hoping AWB is switched on enough with guidance from others (especially Wilf) to point out that the grass is not so green on the other side. Better to earn a bit less but play regularly than a few quid more but invisible on the bench / backroom & ignored

Didn't work that way with Wilf though did it? And agree with the other posters - there is no way we should sell Wilf or AWB unless they want to go. We need to keep our best players - especially when they're one of our own.

MOTD pundits are always bigging him up. So could be hard keeping hold of him. If he has to go my perfect scenario would be Chelsea coming in for him and we swap him for RLC and Batsman. Their transfer ban has scuppered that one.

I may be the exception on this forum but I hope he doesn’t get called into the next England squad.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Cashing in' by Midlands Eagle With the overdose of rumours regarding AWB & now the possibility of him being selected for England I'm hoping we knock back any offers & keep him at Selhurst. How long before the board caves in & sells ?
