I believe in Santa Khan

Further to your earlier query relating to ULEZ charges during the Christmas period, TfL have just confirmed that the ULEZ will be suspended for Christmas Day only.

The Congestion Charge will be suspended from Christmas Day to Monday 3rd January.

Khan is now threatening to abolish the Oyster 60+ card. He has already introduced a stealth tax of £10 a year (to check you are still eligible for it).

This a a perk for anyone over 60 but not yet of state pension age when the Freedom pass kicks in.

This impacts me but hate to say it is difficult to justify a freebie when TFL are in such a mess. If it were down to me I would charge £50pa for it which is still a bargain.

However unlike Khan I would put up fares for all and start charging children, we simply cannot afford it and until relatively recently kids have never gone free.

Anyone between 60 and 66 we are being targeted as the government is also about to abolish free prescriptions for that group. I can afford it but for some people this and the Oyster 60 + pass are going to cost them when they can't.

London voters will put the blame on the tories next time as well.

Rightly so, we are not daft.

11 years of austerity - in fact Khan has done well.

If it wasn't for the tories he wouldn't have this problem.

Khan and Dick should hang their heads for what they’ve done to London. The pair of them couldn’t run a whelk stall.

So giving free travel to kids and over 60s.
Freezing fares for 6 years, I mean 6 years ffs, and wasting millions on bicycle super highways which are infrequently used hasn't caused any of this finance issue then? Imagine where he would be if his stealth congestion and ulez charges; alongside devious Road closures and restrictions bringing in fines of thousands.
Geez sometimes those red specs can get very blurred with love hearts floating around like butterflies in the breeze.

Before he was elected every transport expert and the other candidates told Khan that his pledge not to increase fares was unsustainable he ignored them and so created the mess TFL is in now before COVID struck.

You maybe right that the voters will blame the Tories but some of us can see that he's paying games with the government.

I wouldn't let him run my household budget.

He could have a lash at running Rangers’ finances. Even he couldn’t do a worse job there.

Running your household budget would be beyond the reach of anybody.

Including you.

Actually pretty good at that, where I need help is in investments I have a sorry track record on that never take financial advice from me that is the road to ruin.

Didnt you have to pay for your Oyster 60+ card? I had to 5yrs ago when i got it, £25.00 it cost me & it runs out June '22 2 weeks after my 66th b/day.

Soon this tw@t is fcuk'e orf the better, even Dick Whittington's cat could do a better job than Sad Dick Khunt.

Correct there was an initial fee which I thought was for the duration e.g. 60-66years. However in 2019 he additionally introduced an annual charge to check that you are still eligible it only applies to newbies like me. My mate is slightly older and only had to pay the start up cost.

It's BS really I would have preferred if he was honest and said its a fee rather than an admin charge. I used to spend £35 per month on fares so if he said it will cost £100 pa that is still a good deal but just be honest about it rather than these hidden back door charges.
