You make a good point. There is an air of desperation and low expectations to it all and that's not a mindset we can afford to have. Not everything that's going cheap is a bargain and he hasn't performed at this level no matter who he's played for. What good did he go Swansea and Villa? Down they went. I wouldn't put Ayew at Premier League level personally.

Talk of link up play, making runs, and being a versatile player. I don't see it. He's no jack of all trades, but he's certainly a master of none. Better off getting out of the Pound Shop mentality or having faith in youth players.
